Well the Cavs might wavie him later so their is still a change willa slim chance.

Thoughts?

If I were GM I would have traded him for hemorrhoids but even then, there would be no takers. What a waste of space.

Didn't see this posted anywhere.
"I do like the roster as it is and they certainly deserve a chance to defend their title," Kupchak said Thursday afternoon.

"We are going to pay attention [to any waived players]," Kupchak said. "Typically, the guys that get waived are veterans on bad teams in the last year of a deal and they go their general manager and beg to be released."

Even though we didn't make any moves at the deadline there is still a chance we might make an addition.

No trades but we should be fine . But we need to cut Theo and buy out Murphy.

After seeing the move Danny Ainge made with the Boston Celtics today, Mitch, "doing nothing" looks like an absolute genius!

Mitch isn't dumb enough to trade our starting center for a backup SF with 25 games left.

We're getting Barnes back, which is probably better than anyone we could've acquired, and if anyone good gets waived or bought out, we'll bring 'em onboard!

Makes sense to me. No need to "panic" ala Boston.

We'll see if standing pat was the right decision or not come playoff time.

Two scenarios that pan out are - does us being adamant on having this core defend it's title end up costing our shot at a 4th finals trip, or does playing the cards we're dealt build a renewed focus for second half of the season.

I remain cautiously optimistic and under KB/Phil I believe we have the tools to do it again for Phil's last stand, but problem w/ championship teams is they get lost in the whole "defending the title" theme and they don't like to be proactive or address the problem until the problem addresses them (and in our case would be a elimination in April/May/June.

Time will tell.

^^ they signed Artest last year, Barnes and Blake this year, it's not like Lakers haven't retooled at all. Why would they swing for a major move? Most of the deals floated around were big for small

Lakers could have used another big since Joe Smith is a blow out only player now and Theo is pretty much done for the year I bet.

Wanted Arron Brooks so much. Wallace goes to Portland. He would be so perfect in LA. Mo goes to the Clippers. He would have added some to the PG.

Laker fans wanted that one more player to help get them to the 3rd championship. I fear now we are not the team we used to be.

Waiting for a buyout player. Troy Murphy would be a nice add to the bigs. I fear he is going to the Celtics. Why would they trade there big for a second rounder.

Didn't say we haven't changed, but there's a reason many teams (including our 02-03 lakers) failed to make the finals a 4th straight time - and comparing that team with this year's, there are a lot of similarities. (both had 3 multiple game losing streaks & both had even had a 4-game losing)

Also Fox alluded to the fact that the core of those teams who were trying to make their 4th finals didn't seem to have that gear to get it done - obviously we're relying on the proverbial switch again this year, but with teams improving our margin for error is even slimmer this year & last year we were taken to 7 games - that was with HCA.

And like I already mentioned I was neutral on a move being made, I obviously feel our team has ENOUGH to get it done, but lack of perimeter play is a negative.
This team has no balance. All the talent is in the front-court, because we banked on Kobe continuing to carry the dead weight.
& I feel as champs they'll only feel inclined to make a move/ be proactive until the problem arises via a playoff elimination.

Lets hope that problem doesn't come up.

Ebanks should hopefully just take the minutes that would've possibly been given to anyone we picked up.
