Seems like the Grizz wanted a big in return - I would presume that the Bulls weren't interested in offering Taj and/or Asik.
I agree, Brewer probably wasn't of great interest, but 3 picks should have been enough as I think 3 picks is better than McRoberts and a pick. Plus, Brewer is a pretty good player on a good contract, whether he makes the rotation or not.
