U mad?? Oh, I'm sorry that I hurt your feelings. Maybe this article will soothe your anxiety...
Dwight
Orlando Magic — posted by zach mccann on February, 23 2011 11:06 PM

Dwight Howard, the Orlando Magic’s unequivocal leader, spent most of Wednesday’s 111-105 loss to the Sacramento Kings pleading for his teammates to play harder.

He exploded on his team during a timeout in the second quarter. He harped on his team in almost every huddle. Even between whistles he’d bark words at his teammates.

After the game, Howard was tired of talking.

“I’ve said everything there is to say,” said Howard, sitting dejectedly in front of his lockers with a semi-circle of reporters around him. “That’s it. I’ve talked every timeout, when we’re in the huddle, in the locker room… What, you want me to Tweet about it? I’ve done everything I’m supposed to do as a leader.”

Maybe an inflammatory Tweet would help the Magic, whose embarrassing loss to one of the league’s worst teams certainly serves as the team’s low point this season.

“If guys don’t want to play, they’ve got to sit down,” Howard said. “We just can’t have guys or anybody out there not playing hard.”

Howard continued (complete video of interview is after the jump).

“Everybody on the team has to step up and play hard,” he said. “I’m not singling anybody out; I’m not calling anybody out. But as a team, if we don’t play hard we’re going to lose every night.”

The Magic allowed the Kings, the 26th-best offensive team in the NBA and missing its best player in Tyreke Evans, shoot 52.5 percent and score 111 points on 103 possessions. It was the King’s second win in their past ten games.

Howard’s problem, however, isn’t with the amount of talent on the Magic. Rather, it’s about the energy they’re bringing.

“We have a lot of talent, but talent will not get you a championship,” Howard said. “We’re one of the most talented teams in the NBA. We’re a deep team. We’ve got guys who can do a lot of different things. But if we don’t bring it every night, it’s a waste of talent.”

That’s a nice speech and those are inspiring words. But as Howard said Wednesday night, “We’ve been talking for a long time. That’s all we seem to do is talk.”

What am I mad about?
The nets are not a threat to sign him, sign Dwill first, then think about signing Howard, why would Howard leave a team that's been to 2 straight conference finals for a team like the nets?

I think if you put McGee back then, he would get those blocks just as easily as Russell did. Russell's athleticism was well ahead of the players of his time, and that's about it.

I see zero chance Dwight stays in Orlando. Zero.

He's in Chicago or New Jersey/Brooklyn by the trade deadline next season.

If the Magic are eliminated in the first round I would truly be shocked if we don't hear trade rumors in the off-season if the CBA problems are resolved. I would expect Dwight to Bulls, Lakers, and Nets trade rumors and then Dwight to Knicks via free agency.

Dwight ain't going to the Knix.

They have zero of value to give up in trade and he's not going to take a 20 to 30 million dollar pay cut to be the third banana by the media's view and play with 13 minimum contract players.

Knix need to make a lower level ripoff trade next offseason/season at some point.
That is there only shot at rising above everyone else.

This

Dwight won't be a Knick. They are going to sign the best PG available in 2012. Chad Ford actually wrote the other day that the Knicks right now don't have the cap room for a D-Will or CP3 right now. I know that will change, but they need to make some moves for that to happen right now. Either way, Chauncey will be 36 at that point. I know he's Mr. Big Shot, but I can't see him playing starter minutes on a running team in a year and a half signing for cheap to allow them to get Dwight. The Knicks should get at CP3 and sign a solid, affordable defensive minded center to match up against the West teams. They don't need one on Dwights level though.

Knix don't even have much of a shot at CP3 or Deron either.

They just have very little realistic shot at any max level FA, it's really that simple.

They would need the next CBA to allow the cap to stay around identical, but max salaries to decrease big time, that is their only hope.

Let me just type this one last time as a reference point for everyone, especially the trolls that will be reading this thread eager to pop their suspension cherry...

If the CBA and max salaries stay the same or very similar, any max level player going to the Knix will have to take a literal $20 to $30 million pay cut over the life of their new deal.

Add to this, in order for the Knix to even have that cap space to begin with, they can have NO ONE other then vet minimums on the roster except Amar'e and Melo and that includes renouncing Fields and absolutely letting him walk.

On a final note, even if said player agreed to all the craziness above, the Knicks wouldn't even have the obligatory 1st round picks to send in a S&T, meaning said FA's contract would only have raise percentages of 8% instead of 10.5% from signing outright, adding insult to injury.

Then as an actual final note, they wouldn't have a way to make a trade again without breaking up their big 3 for the first couple seasons, when they could trade one of their MLE or BAE signings, if these exceptions are even included in the next CBA, or allowed to be used by teams like the Knix with such a high pay roll.

Of course no one really knows what the new CBA will look like, but going off what we have now, this is the tale of the tape.

I have my own ideas what some of the major changes will be in the next CBA, but that's a discussion for a different thread.

Boston could be a darkhorse, assuming they don't re-sign Jeff Green
