How long before Avery drives Deron Williams insane?

What are the odds if Williams doesn't resign it's because dealing with Avery turns out to be Jerry Sloan part 2?

I think Avery will actually let Deron do his own thing. The impression I got from the press conference is that Avery is estatic to have D-WIll here and in no way will be the disciplinary jackass he usually is.

I think he will let him be like he did with kidd after a while. Kidd started off having problems fitting into his system but then avery just let him do his thing and the mavs started to win again.

I think Avery like his PG's to lead his team and pass first. Since Harris is more of a scorer then passer thats why they clashed. IMO when Devin was listening to Avery he was a better PG but I really don't think Avery is going to have much to say to Deron, he knows how to lead his team.

That's not how it went down. They clashed hard, culminating in Avery benching him in a close play off game in the 4th quarter, and Avery was promptly fired at the end of that series.

He seriously can't coexist with point guards, that's the position he rides the hardest. Hopefully he's learned from his past, or makes an exception for DWill,

During the press conference, he cited the fact that he was fired before and like jeff1624 said Avery seems to be ecstatic to have him and emphasized the fact that having D-Will allows him to focus on things other than the PG position. Unless he wants to be fired again, I think he'll stick letting Deron do his thing.

You're probably right, but his inclination is to micromanage that position and that didn't change with a veteran Jason Kidd.

But he's a smart guy, and hopefully he's humbled by how much is riding on Williams panning out.

I hope it all goes well for you guys, I want Deron to do well! I loved watching him break ankles with his crossover!
But, I do see problems ahead if Deron and Avery don't click, Deron has a HUGE ego, and a HUGE desire to win. if he isn't winning he will throw Avery and anybody else under the bus before he takes the blame himself.
