How many minutes a gm will Favors get?

PF - Millsap 32 / Favors 16

I'd like that rotation.

I hope we get that by the end of the season.

If he plays fewer minutes than he did in NJ, it will be a mistake. Humphries was their Millsap, and Lopez was their Jefferson. He fought for minutes in NJ and got 19.5. He needs 20 as soon as he's had a few practices with the Jazz, and he needs to reach 25+ by the end of the season.

Favors needs time to develop, we have that time to give him in Utah. All three of these guys can play some center too, so we don't have too many big men. I mean we need to lose someone but not those three. What I like about Derrick is the minutes he gives will include good defense, so he will rarely be a liability.

Paul Millsap playing center is like Spud Webb playing small forward.

This isn't exactly the era of the center- he would have to guard guys like Chuck Hayes. I think he'll be alright.

Jeez, so you group Devin Harris in with Milt Palacio and think he will get few minutes because of lack of confidence. You are certainly the pessimist here.

D-Rudd how did the thread get switched to Harris? I thought it was Favors. Harris will play 30 to 35 minutes a game within 2 or 3 games. With his years of experience, it won't take him to long to pick it right up.

This kid needs more minutes. 15-16 minutes doesn't do him justice.
It's only been two games but so far his 4th quarter presence has been huge.

In Indy, we won because he was on the floor in the 4th quarter. Tonight in Detroit, we had a 7-point lead in the 4th when he was in the game.

The kid does things that dont show on the stat sheet, he is a game changer on the defensive end of the floor, and honestly his offense isnt terrible. He shot 3/5 10 pts.

Ya after watching him for two games I feel like he needs to get 18-22 mins a game minimum. The kid needs playing time to develop and he has been really productive with the time given to him. I never knew he had any kind of jump shot.........

I'm sure that Favors will get all the floor time that he needs DURING PRACTICE.

Practice time at the college level and beyond is so much more intense than High School practices, that they don't even compare. More importantly when the significant and meaningful "improvement" starts to come it will manifest itself in practice. It will also consistently show during practice.

How do you think that Sloan knew about Wesley Mathews??? Did he just chuck him out there during a game, and so "hey this kid is pretty good." No, Mathews was consistently beating his opponent during practice.

If Favors can't compete with Jefferson or Milsap during practice, then why and the heck would we put him out against the NBAs best, and expect him to learn at a faster pace??? Doesn't make any sense.
