This team is in trouble. Average goalies, young players on high lines, and no chemistry.... What are we looking at here SW? Are we going to miss the playoffs because right now it looks that way. Whens the last time you saw a good hard check? We have the skaters and the skill, but outside of that I'm not sure what is there guys...

How are the goalies doing across the lands?

Oh hey thanks. Any team that loses to the Oilers twice is not a good team. We're barely in the playoffs right now and we've played way more games than any other team. The Blues have this division on lock as of right now.

Says the guy that is keeping this entire forum alive and knows more than everyone here about hockey (except for maybe 1 lol)... Oh wait that isn't you, it's Fn Sportsworld. Say something intelligent and we'll back you and debate but say something stupid and then run and you will get a fight from me, sportsworld, or anyone else here.

This team is in trouble that is just a fact.... I've been a fan and followed ALL OF HOCKEY for 20 years and I'm telling you that paying for these games all the way in NC is proving to be trying to me. I just want some hits to prove these guys are hungry and I guess my point is that they should be!!! considering how many of them are new and don't have that ring.

Step off or step up... Idiot.

Yep, I know nothing about hockey. Absolutely nothing at all. I'm just a mindless drone following the bandwagon.

Here's what I do know. The Blackhawks had the shortest offseason in the league, have played the most games in the league so far and lost 9 guys from their Cup winning roster. Maybe it'll take awhile to gel? SCHWHA?

It's frustrating losing these home games, but I'm not worried yet. This team isn't a Cup winner this year, but it is a solid playoff team and still is. If things are bad come 2011 get back to me. But for now? I'm not calling an end to the season yet, because I'm not stupid.

I don't know anything about hockey? I have contributed anything to the forum? Give me a f***ing break. Take a look around the forum first. Hell, look in this thread. If there's one thing I hate on this website, it's people who attack me with wrong information. Do some research first.

Way to take that out of context jack. Never said you didn't know anything but it is IMPLIED that you are indeed an ahole know-nothing when you attack and make a stupid short comment like that. All 3 of us know the score in terms of short off season, new players, etc... and my comment wasn't a chemistry issue but more of an energy thing for the last couple. Watching (for which i pay alot extra) in NC (im from chicago, just moved) I see a better effort tonight in terms of chances.

I see the posts you've made, but you kill your cred with me the second you attack someone in a stupid way. Get a clue, then call this fake number to complain to someone; 382-5968 (funny number btw if you look at it)

I'd hate to get in the way of the pissing contest in progress, but I figured I should post this here. I was just reading the WireTap and noticed that Zherdev has been waived by Philly. I love his combination of size and talent, so my first question was going to be if you guys think we should sign him. However, given that most fellow Hawks fans whose opinions I have read are calling for more grit, toughness and more defensive forwards, I'm starting to think the Zherdev experiment would just be a waste of time.

Well of course CC is a complete surprise to everyone.... No one saw this coming. I expected a .500 record, a 2.5-6 gaa, and a 90 sp.... but no way what he is doing. I'm thrilled for him. Hopefully a guy like Simpson, Richards, or Salak will be ready for 25-30 starts next season.

On Salak and Frolik for that matter. Wow!!! Did we steal that trade or what!! Both of these guys are real good. Salak is so interesting to me I can't believe all it really cost us was Skille whom at best is a 3rd line scorer imo. Frolik is better than Skille and we got Salak... He just turned 24 is having a great year with far... Could be our backup next year.

I agree with what you said about Crawford - I certainly didn't see this coming. I was a bit worried about the idea of relying on Turco to be the main guy for this team, so it has been awesome to see Crawford really come on and play well, meaning there is a lot less pressure on Turco, and a lot less riding on his ability to stay healthy.

As for the Frolik trade, I agree with you there as well. Skille isn't a terrible player, but he's not really as good as his draft position indicates. Frolik is a better player, and is a legitimate top-6 forward with great skills. After monkeying around with my lines, I've got him settled on LW of the 2nd line. I really can't see Skille ever playing effectively on the 1st or 2nd line. I really don't know anything about Salak though. I assumed he was simply a throw-in in this deal, but some people seem to be pretty excited about him, so that's great to see. If it was just Frolik for Skille and a couple of prospects then I would say we won the trade, but if Salak can turn out to be at least a decent backup, then we have won this trade by a mile.

Yea to me it was Salak that was the prize there. Frolik > Skille so that was amazing too. Jessiman and Pacan are decent prospects but nothing special and very fringe pro level guys if that imo. I think there may be a buyout from Far for Salak if next year though????? Anyone know about this?

On when Skille was drafted, if memory serves I think he was 7th that year and I remember it was no secret that DT was gunning for a US skater and nothing else. Well he took him. I remember being really mad we didn't that TJ Oshie in that spot if we were going to take a US skater. This was the Sid draft when they basically pulled the name out of a hat on live TV lol. It was a totally fix perhaps but he is in the right place...

I'm a relatively new Hawks fan, so I don't know a lot of these sort of stories, so thanks for sharing. Why were they so desperate to add a US player?

Feeling more confident than I did before. We're a dangerous team in the playoffs if we make it because we'll be hot going in and we have the confidence because we've been through it before.

I agree SportsWorld. This team is starting to put it all together at the right time of the year. If we can make the Playoffs, I think we can make some noise.

So we just got Campoli and a 7th (I think) round pick for a 2nd rounder and some random prospect. Not sure what to think about this trade really. We got rid of Boynton and lost Hendry to injury, so I guess we were in a desperation-mode for defensemen, and pulled the trigger on this trade. I don't care about the random prospect, but I wasn't overly thrilled with giving up a 2nd round pick. Campoli does seem like a solid 3rd pairing player, but he is similar to a guy like Leddy in that he is smallish, mobile and moves the puck, but doesn't offer a huge amount of size or physical toughness. We really could have used a bigger guy for the 3rd pairing, but I guess a solid player like Campoli is better than nothing, especially when we're starved for defensive depth, as I stated earlier.

Nobody wants to play this team in the playoffs. We'll be hot going in if we make it and while we have some new guys, our main guys know what it takes to get it done in the playoffs. Looking good right now. Hopefully we can keep rolling.

Campoli is a good penalty killer, hence the trade.

Last night's win was massive. Jump from 9th to 5th in the standings in one night and do it on the road. Now an equally big game against the Flames tomorrow.

My buddy just bought us tickets to the 14th game against San Jose, that should be a good one.

I didn't know much about Campoli, so it's nice to know that he can play well on the penalty kill for us. I'll have to check my lines on NHL11 and see if I have him on one of the PK units.
