LAC and MEM have reached an agreement...

Gordon($3,016,680)/Holiday($1,627,920) for Westbrook(4,017,720)/2011 1st(if it doesn't fall to Minny)

Salary works

We hate to lose both EG and Jrue in this deal but have been trying to nab one of the top tier young PGs since day 1. We ease some of the pain with a draft gamble. We may get lucky or we may have to wait til 2012 for our pick. Time to find a new SG...

LAC accepts

Confirmed. We fill our SG hole quite nicely, and replace Westbrook with another great young PG

LA Lakers and Philly 76ers have agreed a trade.

LA Lakers Trade

Kenyon Martin $16,545,454
Trevor Ariza $6,322,320
Leon Powe $854,389
2012 ATL 1st
Total = $23,722,163

Philadelphia 76ers Trade

David Lee $10,800,000
Drew Gooden $5,765,000
DeShawn Stevenson $4,151,786
Nick Young $2,630,503
Total = $23,347,289

Why for LA? We get the backup PF/C we've been after in David Lee, get a good scoring guard in Young, at the sacrifice of our backup defender (Ariza) and Gooden's contract. In terms of cementing the strength of my bench though, I feel it's worth it :)
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

PHI accepts. Although it is tough to part with david lee, we feel this helps the franchise in the future years. Ariza is a wing that can be solid for many years to come on this team. We get rid of goodens big contract, and we take martins expiring. Good trading LA.

Pending Approval of 109, LA Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers have a trade to announce.

LA Lakers trade

Drew Gooden $5,765,000
Nick Young $2,630,503
Devin Ebanks $473,604
2011 NY 2nd
2012 CHI 2nd
2012 LA 2nd
Total = $8,869,107

Cleveland trade

Mickael Pietrus $5,300,000
Charlie Bell $4,447,792
Total = $9,747,792

Why for LA?

Pietrus brings some good perimeter D to the second unit, whilst moving Gooden helps cut costs. Losing Young sucks, but he'll have a bigger opportunity to play in Cleveland. Hopefully I won't regret letting him go.
There is no consolation prize. Winning is everything.

Portland accepts.
We need some depth and added flexibility and feel Gomes is a solid rotation player that can backup the 3 and 4, who we acquired on the cheap.

The Dallas Mavericks and Phoenix Suns have agreed upon a trade.

The Suns trade Andre Miller ($7,269,264), and Julian Wright ($2,858,057) in exchange for Dominique Jones ($1,110,120) and Caron Butler ($10,561,960).

Suns Incoming/Mavs Outgoing: $10,127,321 = $12,659,151
Mavs Outgoing/Suns Incoming: $11,672,080

Deal Works!

We like to make deals, pick up a prospect for swapping of potential EXP's (likely would have waived Miller, as he doesn't truly fit in our long term plans).

The Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers have agreed to a blockbuster!

Bulls outgoing:
Part of the TPE from ($4,936,362 - Gasol Trade)

Lakers outgoing:
Deshawn Stevenson AKA Soulja Boy (S4,151,786)

Why?
We LOVE Stevenson. We feel he is the push over the hump. This deal brings us to 15 players even.

Good dealing Luke, at least someone likes to give a hand once in a while.

# 114

The Phoenix Suns, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers have agreed upon a deal.

First, the Suns would like to waive Darius Songaila prior to the trade. He'll take the cap hit/hold, as he expires tomorrow. Putting him at 13 players.

Suns Outgoing:
Caron Butler ($10,561,960)
Total: ($10,561,960)

Suns Incoming:
Anthony Parker ($2,855,769)
Deshawn Stevenson ($4,151,786)
Courtney Lee ($1,352,640)
Total: ($8,360,195) (Takes on Less then sends out, works)

13 players minus 1 player = 12 players + 3 players = 15 players.
(Stay with me here)

Bulls Outgoing:
Anthony Parker ($2,855,769)
Deshawn Stevenson ($4,151,786)
Courtney Lee ($1,352,640)
Joe Smith ($854,389)
Total: ($9,214,584) x 1.25 % + 100,000 = $11,618,230 (Max incoming)

Bulls Incoming:
Caron Butler ($10,561,960)
Total: ($10,561,960) (Less the Max Incoming)

15 players - 4 players + 1 player = 12 players.

Lakers Outgoing:
Nothing

Lakers Incoming:
Joe Smith ($854,389). Works as it's minimum.

Why for Chicago?
We hate losing Courtney Lee, because we felt with his age, he was the perfect fit with Derrick Rose. But, We like Caron (even though hes technically injured right now) in our starting lineup. We feel that next year we can resign him to a fair deal, and he would love to play for Chicago, which is close to him home town in Racine, Wisconsin. This is exactly the kind of deal we have been looking for. Good dealing boys!
