Teams You Wouldn't Switch Rosters With

Post#1 » by Krapinsky » Sun Feb 27, 2011 1:26 am

How many our there??

At least we're not....

Detroit.
Cleveland.
Toronto.
Charlotte.
Milwaukee.
Phoenix.
Sacramento? ==> I say yes.
New Jersey? ==> Close call for me.

Any others?

When you look at it this way, things aren't that bad. Even though we're losing the future could look much worse.

I wouldn't switch with Gs either. Curry and Ellis are solid, but Lee and Biedrins contracts are brutal IMO.

Maybe i wouldn't switch rosters with some of them but I sure as hell would rather play like most of them.

I'd add Memphis, Washington, GS, Utah, and Portland to the original list.

The Timberwolves have far and away the worst roster in the league in terms of basketball talent. They have one legit NBA caliber starter in Love and that's it. Hell, you could argue that they have less talent than McHale's post-KG team. Foye is a better guard than anybody on the Wolves roster right now. BTW he's killing it tonight vs. Boston.

Foye not better than Beasley

I wasn't aware that Beasly is a guard.

Right, but Foye was the team's second best player. You can't just go by position, otherwise Wolves>Heat because we have the better starting center (Darko over Ilgauskus)

What? You're missing the logic here. I said you could argue that post-KG Wolves had more talent than current squad, and citied an example why. Not the cause. If you look at the rosters top to bottom overall talents are comparable with guards being a glaring weakness for the 2011 Wolves, hence the Foye comparision.

That may be true but that roster had holes everywhere too. Wasn't Gomes our starting SF? Johnson+Beasley is better than Foye+Gomes. Not to mention if I throw Ridnour into it. This team is really young and a lot of players have good potential. Just because they aren't realizing it this year doesn't mean it exists. It doesn't happen overnight. I admit it is frustrating but I'm not ready for this team to scratch this roster and start rebuilding again because this team isn't winning.

:uhoh:

Memphis
Conley and Gay are overpaid.
Mayo is overrated.
Randolph and Gasol need to be resigned this summer to go along with Gay's ridiculous contract.

Utah
The only desirable piece they have is Favors.
Harris is decent but nothing special.
Al and Milsap play very little d.
Al is a blackhole.
My favorite player on the team is AK47 and he is a FA this summer.

Portland
They have Batum, Matthews, and LMA. Nothing else.
Roy's contract is looking awful.
Wallace is a ticking time bomb to get injured or even his brain scrambled.
Camby and Miller? Career stat padder and grumpy old man.
Oden? hahaha

Of all the teams mentioned in this thread the only one I would consider swapping with is the Nets and that's because they have a top 10 player. I'm also adding Houston to my list.

^^^^^^
You have your opinion about these those various teams and conveniently mentioning their flaws (My favorite -Portland- They have Batum, Matthews, and LMA. Nothing else.). BUT, we are comparing them to the 2010-11 Minnesota Timberwolves!!! Honestly B Calrissian, please give me a synopsis of the Wolves (just like you did for Utah, Memphis and Portland) and let’s see how we match up. Can't wait to hear what you have to say about Darko and Flynn.

A better question for debate would be "Head Coaches you wouldn't swap for Rambis"

Answer: none.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
