I don't take any joy in this proclamation, but I'm starting to believe that Blatche doesn't just suck, but he's a cancer too. You always hear about certain guys' energy being "infectious." Well, that's probably the case when the energy is negative too, no? I don't think it's a coincidence that Dray has been out of the lineup the last two nights and we've really brought it against two great teams. For one, there's the ball movement -- it's just much better without Dray's ball-stopping, standing, surveying, and dribbling in place. But also, the fight, the toughness, the body language, the swagger. Our guys seem to enjoy the game and one another much more when Dray's off the floor and out of the lineup. Sad. Sad, but true.
I think playing with the rest of this crew, there may be hope for McGee. He got absolutely destroyed by CHandler (check out Tyson's personal shot chart by using the drop-down menu here: http://scores.espn.go.com/nba/shotchart ... =310226027), but Tyson's a ten year vet. Javale should take his beating as an education and do everything he can to emulate Chandler. Javale is more physically gifted. He's worth waiting for and developing IMO.
John Wall is a total beast -- under-appreciated by his own fans. Seraphin is so much better now that he was at the beginning of the year. Booker's getting more confident and impacting the game.
All in all, a good loss.
It was an OK moral victory. Wizards have had 2 moral victories without Blatche but no real victories; Wizards are 0-6 when Blatche doesn't play. I would be surprised if Dallas wins the title. Not sure how they get past San Antonio, the Lakers, or even the Thunder without a healthy Caron Butler.
IIRC, the Wizards played Dallas tough last time at Dallas. Although it was nice to see Jordan Crawford in crunch time, the Wizards are probably a better team with Blatche than without him. The defense hasn't been much better either.
Not sure why we should be encouraged by McGee's performance either especially since all Chandler did was catch alley oops and that's the scouting report on him. McGee hasn't been the same player since the all star break; hopefully that's just a coincidence and not a trend.
Wall has played much better the past two games. Is he a beast? If the Wizards were winning a few more games, maybe he'll get that rep, probably an offseason of working on his perimeter game and pick and roll defense will get him there.
