On who's part?

Well, both parts, but I was thinking about Washington here.

For playing and paying Hinrich for 50 games or so, they got:

$3 millions (that covers half of what they spent with Hinrich's salary), Seraphin (17th draft pick), Crawford (27th draft pick), a 2011 1st round draft pick (early 20s) and a Mo Evans low salary rental.

It was basically $3 millions for 3 first rounders and Hinrich's contributions for half a season. That's pretty amazing for such a small deal.

Uhh, I can tell you right now that even with him shooting lights out from three this season, Mike Bibby is almost certainly worse than Mario Chalmers on the defensive end, so basically he'd be replacing who, Eddie House and Carlos Arroyo? Miami is so desperate (and stupid) if they do this.

Bibby is signing with Miami.. Everyone knows his relation with Eddie House, and his hatred for the Lakers.

Arroyo is the person likely to get cut if they sign Bibby IMO. The guy hasn't played in a few weeks and he was pretty bad defensively. If Miami's team defense can mask Arroyo starting for a 1/4 of the season and still be a top team defensively, I'm sure they could do the same with Bibby.

I don't think it's a huge signing, but he's certainly an upgrade over Arroyo.

What is so stupid about signing a minimum player that will outproduce what we currently put out on the floor at the PG position. We don't have a PG that can shoot the three consistently right now. Bibby resolves that issue. And you surely don't watch Heat games and see how bad Chalmers, Arroyo and House are on the defensive end. And while Bibby won't improve that area, he at least gives the Heat a quality shooter on the other end that knows how to handle the ball.

Kinda shocking to hear Lakers fans saying they want him, lol. Maybe Scot Pollard is available too.

As a Laker fan I can tell you right now that there are very few PGs left in the league who are worse defensively than Derek Fisher...you guys just found him.

And as a Heat fan, I could do the same and tell you Arroyo and House have been worse.

Bibby is going to the Heat. I could have told you that the second there was word he might get bought out.

Chalmers, Arroyo and House may not be the next CP3, Paul and Rose but Chalmers can at least move his feet and Arroyo and House are shooting very well from deep this season. You'd essentially be replacing a shooter who doesn't play D with another shooter who doesn't play D minus any team chemistry that may already be there. Why replace a guy who's been with you and knows the system this late into the season with another guy who isn't a clear cut above the player he's supplanting?

The Lakers fans you hear saying this are the fans who think that new players are always better. Bibby is garbage, and I would not want him on the floor over Fisher or Blake. Now Carlos is shooting the three better this year then Bibby, but maybe he will be an upgrade over House.

Whether or not Bibby is better than Chalmers/Arroyo (and I think he is) the fact remains that by adding Bibby (and possibly Murphy) the Heat are facing a massive shake-up 2 months before the playoffs start.

I don't really see how this is a huge help to the Heat. Bibby isn't a true point guard, so Wade and Lebron will still dominate the ball, and Bibby will get exposed on defense worse than House and Chalmers do. The additional 3 point shooting obviously helps, but it isn't like Miami has a shortage of 3 point specialists.

The .03% difference in their 3pt shooting efficiency doesn't make up for the fact that he's a better distributor, has a higher IQ, and can run an offense better. Bibby is an upgrade over both House and Arroyo. It may not be a significant upgrade, but he's definitely better.

Are you serious?

Chalmers is worlds better than Bibby at this point.

As a Hawk fan, this is a great pickup for the Heat. The two things he does well are the two things the Heat suck at. Getting into their sets and spot up shooting.

Chalmers makes 2-3 great plays, and then compromises that by making 4-5 DUMB plays. That, and he's not great at running our offensive sets nor forcing the players to do just this. Bibby with his experience of being a true PG can run settled offense, even in pressure situations which the Heat need from the PG.

Chalmers has never done that.

They are missing consistent 3 point shooters. House is extremely streaky and Miller hasn't been healthy long enough to be helpful. Chalmers is shooting 34% from three while Bibby puts up 44% so far this season. And once again, the discrepancy that people think Bibby will hurt our defense because he is worse than what the Heat have at PG is less than people think. You're essentially keeping the terrible defense at that position the same but you are just improving the 3pt shooting, which is a dire need at that position and someone who won't commit stupid turnovers and Bibby can spot up when Wade and LeBron handle the ball.
