The source also said Miami is the front-runner for Troy Murphy. The Heat will have to cut as many players as they sign, and the source said Carlos Arroyo and Jamaal Magloire are the likeliest candidates.

This is where they got it. ESPN is reporting Bibby to Miami and the source also says Troy to Miami is another possibility.

I watched about 90% of Hawks games in the past seven years so when I say Bibby would be a good fit for you guys, I know what I am talking about. Stop being argumentative and listen.

I don't think he helps you a lot in terms of being the piece that gets you to the title if your road is Boston or Atlanta. But v. NYK, Orl, Chi. He helps you guys a ton since execution is your biggest flaw when I watch Heat games. The piece you really need is not on the market won't be for the price it takes to get that person. Bibby is a good stop gap who would make the half court offense run with more efficiency.

I thought Soap was a Lakers fan?

I am... As I said I dont watch the Heat enough to know just how bad Carlos is. I know enought to say that Chamlers is their best pg defender and you dont want bibby taking mis away from him. I also know that any moves that the Heat make they have Boston in mind, or at the very least should have boston in mind.

Bibby has a long history of killing the Lakers. Good pick up for the Heat!

With Wade and James, there's going to be a lot of isolations still in the fourth quarter. It's not a problem if they win.

As a Laker fan I'd rather see Bibby go to the Heat rather than the Lakers as well.

This whole Heat thing is getting a bit sad to be honest. It's harder to hate when you kinda feel sorry for them.

Good pickup. If they get Murphy in, and Haslem back in time for the playoffs, they will have done about as well, as possible, to plug the holes.

Will these pickups allow them to play better half-court and (truly) succeed in the playoffs? Maybe not this year, imho.

The concern for the Heat at the beginning of the season was depth. It's not perfect, but it is indeed improved.

Ernie Grunfeld ftw.

nate33 wrote:Okay, so EG absorbed Hinrich's salary in exchange for Seraphin and $3M cash. He then traded Hinrich for Crawford, the #20 pick, and Bibby. He then got Bibby to shave off $6.2M of what he is owed. In the final analysis, EG spent a grand total of $7.8M to get Seraphin, the #17 pick, Crawford, the #20 pick, and a 60-game rental of Kirk Hinrich.

And another first round pick from Atl in the upcoming draft. I like.

Actually, it was better than that:

On who's part?

Well, both parts, but I was thinking about Washington here.

For playing and paying Hinrich for 50 games or so, they got:

$3 millions (that covers half of what they spent with Hinrich's salary), Seraphin (17th draft pick), Crawford (27th draft pick), a 2011 1st round draft pick (early 20s) and a Mo Evans low salary rental.

It was basically $3 millions for 3 first rounders and Hinrich's contributions for half a season. That's pretty amazing for such a small deal.
