Refs will not give the Jazz calls

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Mar 1, 2011 6:59 am

Since we have traded away Dwill, it leaves the the Jazz without a star who gets star calls. I wish the league would clean this up but it protects its stars at the cost of its unknown players.

Fess makes the same play as Garnett and you could very likely have one called a foul on Fess and no call versus Garnett. Its a fact of NBA life, and its going to make it alot harder for the Jazz to win games at least until Favors develops into our next star.

Corbin is also a Jazz decided (which im in agreement therewith) to take 2 steps back to hopefully take 5 steps forward in 2 years.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Also depends on rep.

At the beginning of the year raja was getting away with a lot of pushing on D, he has lost some rep because he isnt the defender he once was. Therefore he is getting called on tic tac fouls (but still gets away with more than a player like miles)

The C's are a team who have a rep of good D, therefore they can swipe and refs assume they hit the bal, and they are "physical" so they probably get away with more body contactl. If you ask me the C's D is nothing special, its just overhyped.

Phil Jackson said after the stars on his team left, he suddenly went from "great defender" to league-leader in fouls. He said he wasn't doing anything different, but the team had lost its reputation for playing good defense.

There are right calls and wrong calls.

While I don't feel like this topic merits it's own thread, I agree that it we're going to get less calls without Deron. That in itself is a good point, actually. I felt like this year was really his "turnaround" year for drawing calls in certain situations. He was finally treated like a star and it did help the Jazz.

That said, it's a whole load of BS in the first place that we have to rely on having a star or reputation to get calls. They need to start having mandatory psychology training for these refs so as not to be so swayed by certain abstracts, and just call a straightforward game.

Does this surprise you?

In other news, conservative predominantly-LDS Utah is not a profiteer's marketing paradise.

Jello and Van Heusen disagree with you.

There are only a handful of games where the reffing caused a real outrage, the rest of the games were the team's fault. Last night was definitely an outrage. Joey Crawford is a POS.
