To start Hayward at the 2 guard. Raja certainly isn't helping for the future, and if he's not helping the Jazz win now...he's nothing more than a 12-18 minutes a night bench guy.

Case in point...last night's game vs. Boston. Take a look at the box score. Even though Hayward shot 1-5, the Jazz were +15 while he was on floor for 21 minutes. We played our best ball while he was in the game.

Raja, on the other hand, was an astounding -20 in 27 minutes. Not only does he give you nothing offensively, he got absolutely torched by Jesus Shuttlesworth (or Ray Allen). This is precisely the type of player he was brought here to defend. I know that Ray Allen is a great player, but he just killed us in the last 6 minutes of the game with Raja guarding him.

Shake things up Coach Milkman, what do you have to lose? Start Gordon!

I completely agree. Raja has been terrible when he's been healthy enough to play the last two months. He can't shoot and is nowhere near the defender he used to be. He is getting open looks but has no confidence to take the shot. He catches, holds the ball, and passes to the post. He never gets rebounds and is always picking up stupid fouls trying to defend.

Hayward needs to start and play around 25 mins per game. His length bothers 2 guards and he is a pretty good rebounder as well. He probably isn't going to score a lot, but at least he plays smart and is decent defensively.

What I don't understand is, we know we are not winning the title this year, let's develop our young players.....

I don't think the fans are going to have a problem with seeing Favors and Hayward get 30+ minutes a night, at least it would make for an exciting game......

While I don't disagree with starting Hayward, just having young players play doesn't develop them. Developing means them learning to do things they don't do well better. This is done first in practice and then implemented into the live game. Going out and just playing how you've always played in a game won't develop your skills.

There is no recreating NBA experience anywhere but on the playing floor. You can't practice against Dwight Howard at the Zions Bank Center.

No, you get your ass handed to you by playing against Dwight Howard unprepared. You aren't going to learn the nuanced soft skills if you are totally outmatched by your opponent.

Don't really mind Raj starting, but i think Hayward could get more burn towards the end of the game. He's proven he's a fearless dude willing to try his hand at any given situation. Could use the experience in a season where we're not guaranteed much.

I'm not going Allen Iverson here- (Practice? We talking bout practice?) But I don't think that thats the way to go with Hayward and Favors. If we were playing for something, and looking at these guys 4 years down the road to carry this team- yeah, sure. Practice.

But, we need these guys to be signifigant contributors next year. Throw them out there for the last 20 games and let it kick their ass. Whats it gonna hurt?

I'll agree that practice develops players, but I'd argue that trial by fire does it faster. And we have that rare opportunity to have thay trial by fire right now.

Since the jazz did't buy out or waive Bell or miles, its time for the jazz to start Hayward at guard. Lets see more of Hayward and Favors and less of Bell, Miles, and Elson FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR. Its time for both to be learning on the court, not just in practice and watching while sitting on the bench. The other alternatives right now just aren't very good.

No need to buy out CJ--they have a team option for him for next year. This could be a final test to figure out if they want to pick up his option for $3.7 mill for one more year.

I don't expect the vets to get benched in favor of the rookies until it is absolutely clear that we no longer have a shot at the playoffs--currently the Jazz are 1 1/2 games out but Phoenix has moved ahead putting the Jazz in 10th place.

There's no reason to push for the playoffs this year...... And I hate when we lose games, but let's get the most out of our opportunity, 2 lottery picks even in a weak draft is still great when it comes to a quick rebuild.......

Corbin went to see Evans' game in the D-league, that's pretty awesome IMO. Evans did pretty well. 10 pts 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal in 34 minutes.

I would like to see the rooks get a little more PT. Don't give them the green light or anything, but it definitely is an opportunity for Ty to coach these guys.
