Lakers Will Talk About Waiver Moves When Kupchak Returns

Post#1 » by Venomspain » Fri Mar 4, 2011 5:35 am

The Lakers didn't make a trade last week and have not been involved in any waiver wire deals.

"We're still aware of who has been released and when [Lakers general manager] Mitch [Kupchak] gets back from Europe, we'll talk about it," said Phil Jackson.

Jackson said there was "a couple places we could use some backup help or some insurance" but would not go any more specific.

"They're quality players, or have been in the past," Jackson said of the pickups. "They should have something left in the tank to help out their new teams."

Wow, after all the other teams picked up the best FAs, we still haven't even talked about this yet? Shows how much we care.

So we didn't even discuss Corey Brewer because Mitch was in Europe? I'll pretend I didn't read that.

Hopefully he's doing some personal scouting to make use of those second round picks. **** typing with a broken finger is hard.

Nice Phil, could have kept that to yourself...there's no one left to pick up. (Quietly brassing myself for no threepeat) This sucks
“If this is his team, that means no more coming into camp fat/out of shape, no more blaming others for our team’s failure, my team doesn’t mean only when we win it means carrying the burden of defeat just as gracefully as you carry a championship trophy.”

Unless it is a big, I really see no one that will be a difference maker. Like they said, maybe in practice or to make even teams for a shot-a-round.

Eddie Curry got 11 million for just leaving and going away. Hope he goes to the heat and gets no playing time.....

Great show!

Uh I am going to guess Mitch is scouting our future PG stud. Either that he is following up with Pau's lead and decided to check in with Ricky Rubio. What do you guys think?

I hope you're right. I'm not sure why else he would be in Europe.

Yeah its not like there's an awful lot to discuss. The only players left are Adam Morrison and Eddy Curry. Surely Ebanks and Caracter are better options than that.

Be easier if the Lakers needed a player. Just look into the NBA DL. At lease they have been playing all the time and not sitting on the sides waiting for millions to walk away.

Larry Hughes is a viable option.

Barnes is healthy and supposedly is going to play tonight Ebanks barely played our SF rotation recently has been Artest, Kobe and Luke. No one would want to come to LA to take Ebanks place now if Barnes missed the rest of the season then a Brewer or a Butler would have been viable options.

I figured our roster wasn't going to be changed in the slightest bit. We will have to though in the up coming off season whether we win it all or not.
