Per 36 minutes values:

Rose: 23.4/4.2/7.8 with 53.3 ts% and 10.3 To-R
Iverson: 26.7/3.3/3.9 with 51.8 ts% and 8.8 To-R

Rose is the better defender and it seems like also the better offensive player (3.3 points less, but 3.9 assists more), Rose also rebounds better than Iverson.

Rose is the better player today than Iverson in 2001.

Why would you automatically assume Rose is the better defender? From what I have seen he is very poor on defense. At least Iverson led the league in steals that year.

Rose is not a very poor defender. That's an old scouting report. And gambling in the passing lanes doesn't make you a good defender. Iverson was actually a pretty bad defender that played the passing lanes well.

Still I'd take that Iverson over today's Rose by a slight margin.

When did you see Rose the last time? In his rookie season?

Watch the last game of the Bulls@Jazz, maybe you will understand that Rose is the better defender than Iverson ever was.

Iverson's amount of steals were caused by him to gamble a lot. That's actually not per se good defense and in Iverson's case it never was. The 2001 76ers were able to compensate for Iverson's weak defense by having the DPOY and better perimeter defenders in Snow and McKie.

I'll take Iverson, he was restless and fearless. I have to see Rose at least get out the first round of the playoffs before I pick him over Iverson

Lol jose calderon lit rose a couple times this season, which I find really funny. I think in 2 games he has 35 assists.
