After the Wells trade I wouldn't be shocked if Reagins offers that package plus Trout to the Yankees for A-Rod.

He'd probably turn it down if the Yankees offered to pay some of A-Rod's contract though.

Remember when Elijah Dukes was supposed to be the next freakish athlete in the bigs?

TAMPA, Fla. -- Former major league outfielder Elijah Dukes was being held in a Florida jail on Thursday after his pregnant ex-girlfriend accused him of slapping her in the face during an argument, authorities said.

Hillsborough County Jail records show Dukes, 26, was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated battery on a pregnant woman and driving with a revoked or suspended license. He also had been wanted on a contempt of court warrant. He was being held without bond.

Sad stuff...

Dukes is a total jerk.

That much hasn't changed since his early days in Tampa.

That franchise is just cursed. I have a good friend who is a Cubs fan and I feel for him. Not only has it been over 100 years now but last decade you've seen all the other franchise who were in long title droughts break them. Red Sox, Giants, and worst of all the rival White Sox. Hell even the Marlins have won twice since their inception. Rockies and Rays two expansion teams in 98 have made the Series and the Cubs haven't even been there since like 1945 or something like that.

Heartbreaking.

Nic Brown is going to have surgery on his broken right hand.

CLEARWATER, Fla. -- The Philadelphia Phillies say rookie right fielder Domonic Brown is likely to have surgery on his broken right hand.

Brown traveled back to Philadelphia on Sunday and will be examined by specialist Dr. Randall Culp. Brown will probably have surgery on Tuesday.

Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. had said Brown would probably need anywhere from three to six weeks to heal from surgery.

Brown hurt himself swinging the bat in a game Saturday. Without him, Ben Francisco has a good chance to take over as Philadelphia's right fielder.
