This is by a mile best detailed scouting report on Veselý http://www.in-the-game.org/?p=6979 Written almost a year ago but aside his role in Partizan has changed, it should be spot on. Stats and explanations what causes them included.

Overall it seems to be a good site about european basketball for stats freaks (but not updated, what a shame).

Only if he improves his shooting. 70% FT, 32% 3pt. Not great lines for an average height SG in high school. He is going to be a good player but has some work to do to get there. He also takes a lot of real bad shots right now. Also .78 assist to turnover ratio right now.

One reason I like Austin Rivers.

Well, when is the date till they have to withdraw or declare? I didn't see August around lately but I think this year we can't start those draft board consensus threads soon enough.

If we fall back 2 spots and get that 8th pick, I want Terrance Jones. Defiantly still want Terrance Jones over Harrison Barnes at this point.

Kendall Marshall is legit.

Wanna know who he reminds me of?

DJ/Jack/Jones/Thomas/Kwame (or draftee) with a Hendo coming back off the bench would look pretty promising. I would love to see Jones. He is a do it all man. He has great size, plays good defense, gets steals, rebounds, shoots, and is very athletic. He really is the total package. i think by draft time his stock may really rise to above where were drafting, but I think he has the potential to be something really good in the NBA.

Marshall has been by far the best true point guard in the ACC this season. So impressive as a freshmen.

He reminds ME of Grevis Vazquez - in his dribbling style and the way he keeps his head up at all times, and never seems to be running 100%. His shooting reminds me of Ty Lawson - kind of has a set shot jumper from 3 and is hitting 38% from deep which I would expect him to continue to improve and go above 40% in the next year or two. He's got some Lawson in his passing also, but part of that may be from running Roy Williams' offense

Except when Diaw came into the NBA he was a PG who made extroadinary passes but was never aggresive enough on offense. Marshall is much the same. He makes GREAT passes, but the criticism about him has been that he is not aggressive enough.

Who do we draft?

Post#354 » by Elden Payton » Mon Mar 7, 2011 2:07 am

This thread is about our 2 picks in the first round this year(& 1 second rounder), currently we are sitting at 10 with our pick & the Portland pick is at 19. Where do you think they will end up? Who do we draft with these picks & why do we draft them? I believe this is as important an offseason as we have had as management needs to be extremely proactive so as that we don't drop off in a major way(which considering that we have only made the playoffs once in our short history is a scary thought which could affect our very existence)

I believe our pick will be in the 8-12 range & if we end up in the late lottery I believe that we should draft Kawhi Leonard as our 3 of the future, he is a great(yes great) rebounder for his size & has very good defensive instincts(despite his gamble leak out early tendencies), his offense will develop over time & he would start for us as a rookie(assuming we get rid of S-Jax) I honestly believe he could be Gerald Wallace with a jumper(which screams allstar!!) He would be a great third option.

The portland pick in my eyes will be 17-22 which is a good range in this draft, I don't believe this draft is weak at all as talent will still be available that has as much potential as high lottery picks, every year someone slides & we are in a perfect position to catch whoever falls. This year I could see any one(or two) of brandon knight, Alec Burks, Harrison Barnes,Perry jones,Motiejunas,Kanter or Vesely falling past 14, anyone of these guys is worth a gamble(on their potential alone) in this projected range. If none of these guys are available I would like us to select Jordan Williams(maybe trading down?) as we need the size(Bulk not just height) & he is gonna be a stud for someone, I believe Oak Tree would work miracles with him.

Anyways feel free to flame away!! I'm keen to hear what everyone thinks.

Slam, you read my mind. Jason Kidd at Cal exactly. Watching that game against Duke I was thinking the same thing. The one handed passes with english on them.
