In the last six games since Green was traded Harden has been awesome. He has definitely been a MUCH better 3rd option than I can ever remember Jeff Green being. His statline for the last six games:
18.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.3 apg, .5 bpg, 1.2 spg, 49.3 fg%, 29 3pt%, 93 ft%, 61.5 ts% (!!!)
Just for reference, Green's ts% was 53.3% and Durant's this year is .589
Harden has been the awesome, incredibly efficient, 3rd option that we always thought Green could be. He's also doing this in an average of 30 mpg the last 6. Imagine what he could do if he got 40+ a game like Green did.
Anyways, I hope Harden can continue to be this ridiculously awesome

Re: Harden since Jeff Green was traded
It's pretty great that he's this effective even though his 3pt'er isn't falling. I don't expect him to shoot 49.3% consistently, but he won't shoot sub-30% from 3pt range either. So this kind of scoring productivity seems like a realistic thing to expect from him, IMO.
He also seems to be creating more offense for himself, and his defense has been good.
I believe some of this has to do with him getting into shape. He seems a lot more active.

Not too surprise to see Harden become the 3rd scoring option. He is talented and always so good. In some ways he is more clever than Russ in knowing how to creat his own shots and drawing fouls.

Re: Harden since Jeff Green was traded
Our big 4 since we traded Jeff:
Durant - 24 ppg, 8 rpg, 3 apg, 1 bpg, 1.2 spg, 87ft%, 41 fg%, 45 3pt%
Westbrook - 24 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 7.5 apg, 1.7 spg, 79ft%, 46 fg%, 38 3pt%
Ibaka - 9 ppg, 10.2 rpg, 2.5 bpg, 70 ft%, 46 fg%
Harden - 18.2 ppg, 2.5 rpg, 2.3 apg, .5 bpg, 1.2 spg, 49.3 fg%, 29 3pt%, 93 ft%
What we had:
Green - 15.2ppg, 5.6 rpg, 1.8 apg, .8 spg, .4 bpg, 82 ft%, 43 fg%, 30 3pt%
I'm really impressed with Russell's fg% since green left. So much for Westbrook being shut down now that Green isn't there to spread the court.
Plus I'd much rather have a PF that puts out 10pts, 10 rebs, and 3 blks a game on 8 shots than a PF that puts up 15pts, 6 rebs, and half a block on 12 shots a game and 4 threes a game
That last one might just be me though.
We're also scoring almost 105 ppg since Green was traded. So much for our offense shutting down now that teams can "pack the paint" since Jeff isn't there to spread them out.
Plus we've done all this without Perkins who will increase our defensive stops which leads to even more fastbreaks. I bet you can tell that I'm really happy that we traded Green.

How is TS% counted ? Same as EFG%?
It's quite on the high side, i can't find any single season ranking of EFG. Closest i got is http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/basketball/nba/stats/2010/individual/scoring/0_byFG_PCT.html
The first player with >100 3pointer attempt is lamar odom. I'll be more than overjoyed if Harden can maintain 53-55% EFG next season.
So long as he is efficient and taking between 10-15 shots i don't think it matters if he starts or on the bench.

He's getting lesser minutes but he's on a contender. I just hope that he value that more than the money at this point of his career. The teams with capspace are all probably not going to contend in the short term. sign a year deal or two.
Doesn't help that falk is his agent i guess. and the guy doesn't see a lower salary cap which i think is right.

FWIW, Danny Ainge is a big Harden guy and said one of the ways this trade really helps OKC is it gives Harden a bigger role.
(Yes, Green has done very well for Boston. So has Krstic.) It's a good trade for both teams.
Beat LA!

Boston is using Green as a 6th man though right?
Now who would have had the brains to think Green would have been a nice 6th man????

Re: Harden since Jeff Green was traded
I think the reason that harden productivity has increased is because he has more opportunities to have the ball in his hand and create, where as with green - HARDEN had to stand around the 3 point line and fire away which isn't his game. This is why many times he would pump fake and get into trouble because he was asked to do something that he has never done before - be a spot up shooter.
Harden is only going to get better as time goes on because perkins will lay some great screens and roll hard to the basket. Something that the thunder have never had. I think that the defense looks great and we actually look like we are bigger or atleast the same size as other teams.
