Cmon, MVP isnt decided on your play in the end of March/April.

He's really been the dark horse even before the season started. Let's phrase it like this, if Rose and the Bulls weren't playing like this, I think Bryant would be being heavily talked about right now. Bryant's play has been good all season (the last 3 months in particular), so it isn't that he's just starting to play well, it's the team has appeared to taken it up another gear as a whole. If the Lakers end up having better records than the Mavs & Bulls, Kobe would deserve heavy consideration.

This is basically coming down to Rose, Kobe and Dirk. The Magic just dont have the record for Dwight to get consideration (8th best in the league), and hes suspended tonight so they may lose another one. And obviously LeBron's MVP stock has pretty much disappeared.

I just dont see Dirk winning another one. Wrong or right, how can people look back on the league in 20 years and say, "Wow, Kobe and Shaq only won 2 combined MVPS? Dirk and Nash have 4". I just think that would be embarassing. Again, its not how the voting works, but its still crazy to think that its a posibility these guys combine for 4 MVPs and 0 rings.

I see what your saying but ive sorta got Kobe in the Dirk category aswell.

What i mean by that is that he isnt a real hot pic right now. Yes he has the wins and very good numbers, but will the media push for him over a Rose or Dwight?

Depends really. The Lakers in their current position hold their own destiny. They have two more games against Dallas and are 2 games back in the loss column. If the Lakers play out this road trip as well as they have been playing and close out the season on a ridiculous run (which is what it'll take), it will catch the media's eye and give them another story to run with. Kobe and the Lakers have very little room for error during this time, at most maybe they can drop 3 games the rest of the way and they may to be too many. It won't be a cakewalk and it'll take some stumbling for the Bulls (and aside from a handful of games, their schedule isn't too difficult), but Kobe's name should surface soon.

Edit- you mentioned Rose and Howard, remember until this week it was Rose or LeBron and now suddenly Dwight has entered the frame despite people saying earlier that his team doesn't have enough wins. The Magic have played well recently and Dwight has played great and has made himself a viable option, these things can change quickly.

My vote if i had one would go for Rose, but any of Howard,Rose, or Dirk wouldn't frustrate me. They are all very valuable players to their teams.

I really hope Rose gets it though, because if the Bulls get a better shooting guard in the offseason then his scoring will drop and though it shouldn't matter i'm sure plenty of voters fall in love with a high scoring average.

Well my pick is Rose or Howard.

I have no problems with Kobe being up there, im just gauging with what the media have been saying and doing the last couple months.

Howard or Dirk. Kobe and Rose shouldn't win it, sadly though, one of those two will.

I think it'll be between Rose and Kobe. Team record will play a huge factor.

Only if they start calling fouls on those "missed layups" :(

Rose plays pg and he plays it great but he is a 'basketball player' and as such his abilities can not be defined by his position.

Much like a Dirk Nowitzki he is unique to his position. Also like how not every SG is meant to score i.e. Thabo Sefolosha.

He does but he has to.

Boozer and Luol cant create much offense, and they tend to get into funks.

Boozer has been bad for a while now so if theres someone on this team who i want scoring the ball, its Derrick.

i wish hed take more some times. like tonight. it was the most boring game of the century and our team could not score. still it seemed rose barely shot at all and theres a bunch of times you want him to take it himself

Efficiency can kiss my ass. Rose is the Bulls' offense. Deng going 2-12 and Korver missing every single of his shots in the 2nd half didn't help any.

Hornets just packed the paint and Rose had to in the trees of three and get the bucket, he got blocked a couple of times but there were couple of times where he was mugged without a call.

Like I said Efficiency can kiss my ass, I will take whatever Rose is doing and helping the Bulls win no matter how ugly the games become.

Rose with 24 points 4 rebounds 9 assists 1 steal 2 blocks (leading all PGs in blocks).

Gutted it out, the whole team looked out of Gas but Rose refuse to lose is good enough for me.

If Rose is not the front runner for MVP right now, people need to pay more attention I guess.

8-21.

I guess you think then also that Iverson was 2001 the true MVP...

The efficiency argument keeps coming up, but it feels more like people in the corner shouting about it to get attention while everyone continues to say "we're not really tryin' to hear all that mess."

And then pointing to the win/loss column.
