The Super Bowl DVD of the Green Bay Packers comes out Tuesday, and there's good strategic and inside stuff in there. Such as the Steelers rallying in the second half, and Green Bay linebackers coach Kevin Greene talking to linebacker Clay Matthews before a crucial series with the momentum all Steelers, with defensive leader Charles Woodson out for the game with a broken collarbone: "Everybody looks up to Wood as being the leader," Greene says to his pupil. "He's gone. Nobody's rallying the troops. It is time. IT IS TIME.''

Matthews goes out to the field and, in the vital series, tells defensive tackle B.J. Raji the ball's coming his way -- he can feel it. And here came Rashard Mendenhall, with Matthews sprinting at him. Big collision. Fumble. Packer ball. Momentum stemmed. "I read that!'' Matthews yells coming off the field. "I knew it was coming!'' Pretty good stuff in this DVD, but what else would you expect from NFL Films at the Super Bowl?

The only thing that i find extremely interesting in these type of DVD's is the scenes where players on the field/sidelines are mic'd up. I love that stuff. I wish i could find out how much of that stuff is on the DVD?

Then again, maybe i'll just wait a few months for my mother's birthday and buy it for her, then i can watch it myself for free. :D

I love the FX highlights but the bonus features seem kinda weak.

I remember on one of the Patriots championship videos one of the bonus features was the complete broadcast of the Super Bowl,I have the game but that would be a kick ass bonus feature for those that didn't record the game.

I think you have to get the blu ray to get the mic'd up stuff. Maybe the regular DVD has some of it. I'm picking up the blu ray later today.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Best Buy has it at 19.99/29.99, Target is $18.59/26.79, Walmart is $17.96/24.96. These are the online prices, I assume it's the same in store.

Picked up the Blu Ray. Thoroughly unimpressed with the content. Doesn't offer much more than what a typical highlight package would. Oh well. Something I'll keep forever at least.

I finally got a run through this thing.

1. McCarren is annoying as usual. I guess I hold a double standard because McGee yelling in the background of Irwin was awesome. For some reason, McCarren sucks.

2. The new documentary-style NFL Films is iffy for me. I know it has been this way for a few years as this follows the NFL Network theme, but it is almost silent most of the time with clicking noises and horns coming in randomly. Not trying to sound like an old man here, but the '96 video with the blaring NFL Films dramatic music did it for me. The dramatic music when Howard was taking punts back (and almost back) against the 49ers in the playoffs was awesome. I realize we have way better on-field audio now so it is normally quiet so that we can hear that, but sometimes it was TOO silent.

3. It was hard for them to cover it in the given time, but if and when I show my kids this, I would have liked a little more on the backstory of Shields, Starks, and a few of the other n00bs. There is the Tramon feature in the special features that was shot before the Super Bowl, but I'm saying just a little mention of how awesome Shields was would have been nice.

4. I like how they try to get hot chicks in almost every crowd shot. Classic.

I still haven't picked this up yet but I will. It may not be perfect but I absolutely have to have it. We are World Champs baby :)

Does anyone know when the DVD collection of all the playoff games comes out? I'm pretty sure that in past years it was released in late May/earlyJune. I haven't heard any info on a release date yet. Hopefully the lockout isn't to blame.

Yeah previous years it was late May/ early June, can't wait for it because the SB was somehow deleted off of my DVR.
