Just thought of when J Cole had the Miguel song and whp n o dat on the radio. And he got in the morning blasting on the radio and do you think he's gonna die his hair red and make a bunch of dumb poppy songs? I think not.

Re: Official Rap/Hip Hop Thread 2.0
Even though Lasers was leaked a few days ago, I listened to the full thing for the first time today (I bought the iTunes pass so when he released a song, it downloaded automatically).
Is the album more pop than usual for Lupe? Definitely. However, I don't get what people's problem with the album is. Is the only problem that it's more mainstream than usual? Do people really think that it completely derails the album?
I'm a HUGE Lupe fan and I've been waiting for this CD for a while (as has everyone else). I still like mainstream music so I had no problem with the CD whatsoever. From what I understand, the mainstream-ness of the album was forced upon him - makes sense, because Lupe isn't in it for the money/isn't a mainstream rapper. With that said, I thought this CD was great. I thought it was really cool how he blended mainstream background music with his clever lyrics. The more I listen to the songs, the more they grow on me. As always, hats off to Lupe for the CD.

Now that you mention Ras Kass, I don't believe he's made a GOOD album since Soul on Ice but SoI is so underrated it's not even funny.

I thought Institutionalized Vol. 1 and the new A.D.I.D.A.S project were both dope as hell, but he has had a lot of work that was lackluster in previous years. Soul on Ice is an amazing album, a true hip hop classic.

I worked with Ras Kass on my free mixtape, What Lies Within, back in 2009. Good dude.
I'm just waiting on that new HRSMN album that's finally coming (I've heard some of the tracks and they're monstrous. They've also leaked a few, below, and did a joint on ADIDAS)
HRSMN - Impossible (ft RBX & Dina Rae) - Dina Rae is the singer chick from Eminem's "Superman"

This track "This **** Right Here" is from Ras Kass ADIDAS project. I thought it was amazing.

I had to choose an artist to do a report on, and how they influenced my life, and what they mean to me. I also had to talk about their life, etc...
I chose Cole back in September, at the time I thought I was going to unwrap him to my class, now he's got some real hype, so most people know about him..
I got 2Face and Lights Please Clean... Took me a while, but I found em. Would have rather done Enchanted, or Problems, even Farewell. Still not a bad combo.

That's cool, dude. I actually talked a little about Jay-Z in an Intro to Religion class.
If you still need/want Problems, clean, I just googled it - found this...

New Grynch mixtape out, so far pretty solid. His last mixtape was quite solid, sounding good thus far.
