Watching the Grizzlies game last night was so freaking frustrating. Having a lineup of Westbrook/Thabo/Harden/Durant/Ibaka just wont cut it against teams with size.
Im just glad Nate Robinson is hurt other wise hed probably throw out a Westbrook/Robison/Harden/Thabo/Durant lineup.
Do you think his tendency to go small will stop once Perk gets back? Surely he CANT bench Ibaka and Perkins for a majority of games.
Were all getting excited about seeing Ibaka play the 4 with Perkins next to him, but I have a bad feeling that were still gonna see a lot of Durant at the 4 alongside Perkins or Ibaka.

Re: Small Ball
In theory Durant at the 4 stretch their defence.
but in practise it'll never work cause we don't have a 3 with height at durant slot so we end up with 3 guards. we end up with thabo on court and he's probably worse than green at stretching the floor. actually all that doesn't matter, not like westbrook/durant going to pass anyway. does it matter if it's smallball or if we have durant at SG?
I don't think i want harden to start if the 2 of them not going to pass the ball around. at least with the 2nd unit, harden gets the ball sometimes.

Re: Small Ball
Lionel Hollins would actually be a good fit to coach this team. I mean he's got the Griz playing great ball with a similar roster to ours (talent wise) - and he actually utilises his bigs.
Anyway, if the small ball continues post-perk era, we have to kick up some sort of petition calling for Brooks' head.

He does have a great team over at Memphis. At least he won't go small when he have Gasol/Randolph.
I don't mind small ball per se, but it's pointless if you're not going to have 4 shooters on the court and you're players are not passing the ball. If only Morrow was taller and he was ours.
