I guess you learn something new every day.

That first crossover was pretty blatant. No way a ref calls it though.

The faster you are at a move like that the less likely you'll get called. Iverson carried a lot back in the day.

Jordan used to put the ball in his pocket like a bottle of Yop and go jogging.

We don't need to add another horrible defensive player that won't be happy unless he's jacking up shot after shot. He doesn't seem like a BC type player either. If we're worried about keeping star players then why draft a guy who already has his sights set on the spotlight before he's even been drafted?

Kemba Walker Would Love To Play For The Knicks

"It's special, a special place to play," he said. "Everybody dreams of playing in this place, the bright lights, everybody watching. It's just a special place."

"I think about that all the time. I would love to not only play with him but play for this organization, just because I'm from here. But whatever happens, happens. I can't control stuff like that."

why do the top two C prospects have to be Euros
seriously wtf

Outside of Irving Valanciunas sounds like the best fit but the thought of a front court of he and Bargs makes me cringe.

I agree, but a Val/Davis frontcourt intrigues me.

Agreed. It opens the door to trading both Bargnani and Johnson - not immediately, but as that young pair improves.

As for pspot's comment on Kemba Walker's defence, I think it's pretty good. He will have some difficulties in postups, but he has great lateral quicks, tremendous speed and applies himself to defence. Sure, I'm still in the Kyrie Irving camp if we have the first overall pick, but if we're staying at 4-6, Walker is certainly a guy who fills a need as a space creator for our other players, a go-to guy in big situations, and would facilitate a PHX style system if that's BC's goal.

As for his comment about how he'd like to play in NY, sure, what do you expect him to say? He's from New York, playing in New York, his favorite player is Carmelo Anthony. But if we draft him, it would be different in my view from taking a kid who's from a small town in Mississippi who has trouble adapting to a big city with colder weather, etc

Has anybody posted this clip from last week regarding Valanciunas?

He's definitely active and he does have terrific hands for a big guy. Certainly an upside-based pick as everybody's said with the ability to fill in as a hustle guy until he improves. Doesn't look to be particularly intimidating defensively though which is a little worrisome if you're drafting him primarily for defensive reasons.

I definitely see the Biedrins comparisons more now.

Yep, and Valanciunas might have the added benefit of cooling MLSE's heels a little bit. It's obvious he wouldn't be a quick fix and I think drafting him would show an implicit understanding that we'd need at least another (possibly lockout-shortened) year of rebuilding.

If you anticipate a lockout shortened season, you draft Valanciunas and leave overseas until the following season, thus giving him lots of PT while we max out our ping pong balls for 2012. From a strategic team building standpoint, that could work out rather well.

This board makes me laugh. Honestly, Kemba Walker is truly mediocre talent. He is a **** junior who can (inefficiently) score in college. ****. Are you sure you don't want to draft Fredette if we get the #1 pick?

To put things into perspective:
Jerryd Bayless' freshman season:
35.7 min , 19.7 pts, 2.7 reb, 4.0, ast, .458 fg%, .839 ft%, .407 3p%

Kemba Walker's junior season (I won't even bother posting Walker's embarrassing freshman numbers):
37.3 min, 23.4 pts, 5.3 reb, 4.3 ast, .433 fg%, .795 ft% , .348 3p%

KEMBA WALKER IS THE **** FUTURE OF THE RAPTORS!!! KEMBA WALKER OR DIE **** TRYING!!!

Walker, at times, reminds me of Iverson.

Except he's got great character.

So did Jonny Flynn, yes, but this guy doesn't seem as raw as Flynn was at Syracuse playing PG. He's got a clear-cut strength(s): His speed and offensive repertoire.

What is wrong with you? Calm down.

First of all, I posted the video to Kemba's shot and I don't want him with our pick, either. But it was a sensational shot.

And I haven't seen anyone posting anything like what you're claiming here. No one's saying he's the second coming. We're looking at picking in the mid-lottery of a terrible draft, and, like it or not, Kemba Walker will get some consideration there.

As I say, I don't really like him with our pick either, but you don't need to completely lose your mind over it.

I'm usually on board with dagger's opinions, but I couldn't disagree more with the Valanciunas and Kemba pimping

There's a 10% of me that's scared dagger knows something about where the organization is leaning, he's always had that "Is this guy involved with the Raptors or what" Deep Throat allure to him :o

Bayless's problem is his passing and court vision. Walker seems to be a better passer, but of course Irving would be a better player, and T. Jones/P. Jones might fill our needs as well.

Of the top eight picks suggested by ESPN, I wouldn't want Williams nor do I have faith that Perry Jones will turn into something special. Where others see Lamar Odom & Tracy McGrady, I see Bender, Swift or SAR.

If we dont get Irving, I'll be happy with any of Kanter, Valanciunas or T Jones. Maybe even Barnes if were hoping for a DD type of progression, thus tanking it into next years draft again.

Yeah, nobody is saying that we should take Walker. We're just talking about him as a top 10 pick. I'm not sure I see him as being terribly worse than Jennings and Jennings still has his fans so I think he's a lottery pick based on that alone.

I would rather not tank for multiple years. Let's get competitive now, trade our vets (Barbosa) to a non-playoff team looking for relief for a pick. Grow from there. In that scenario we will need a player than definitely help now with some upside. Someone that can maybe get us a playoff spot and then grow with a decent pick the following year. So let's get this draft right and get to competitiveness quickly.
