I hate Scott Hastings sooooo much. He makes it so hard to watch games on Altitude.

Nene straight bullied us. Dwight is going to have a beast game. Let's just hope our 3's are falling against them.

Didnt get to catch the game... But not too upset.

If there is a team we dont match up well against, it's the Nuggets. For some reason, we seem to always lose to them.

CAn anybody tell me who were the best players tonight? How was Warrick?

Disheartening loss, our guys just didn't seem as interested as the nuggets tonight. Sad, because this was potentially a very important game for our postseason aspirations.

The main thing that I noticed was we ran a lot of pick and roll tonight, but there wasn't one that I recall that actually came off. What used to be an unstoppable weapon for us was rendered quite useless against this nuggets team. I'm hoping that it was a product of nash's soreness, and a lack of frye-generated floor spacing rather than a slowing down of his ability. Without it, we have a really limited offensive range and as we saw an increase in the number of late shot clock jacked shots.

It will be very interesting to see how we respond to this loss - if we come out pissed and angry, or if our confidence is shaken.

havent lost to nuggets at home for 7 years, til tonight :)

Bad game for everyone. again, gentry has gotten blame for having players like MP who literally just throw the ball out of bounds more often then not.

Another small quick physical guard manhandles Nash. Its becoming a commonplace. If he has lost half a step because of injury, then he is a full one behind. He had to play off Lawson 5 or 6 feet. Sit his ass down for the next 2 games and tough it out with Brooks and Z. We can not win with a hobbled Nash. Our Dervish is no longer whirling.

Can we play any worse than last night ? If we follow it up with a similar spank downs Sun and Mon, it would be very detrimental to the confidence of this already tired and doubting team. I do not expect victories against either, especially the back to back.

Rest Nash for both and we are not 'expected' to win. Its a page from Pop's psych book. We pull off a victory, its a huge boost. We lose, and we can attribute it to being Nash-less. It softens the blow. This may be the last time all yr Nash could get a 5 day rest. He'd come back Tues... against the Hornets....rested

Besides, we need to get Brooks some real game time run. We gave up some talent for him, lets see what we have in return.

Agreed. We didnt give up our "future Nash" and a 1st round pick just to have Brooks do exactly the same job Dragic was doing, which was play ony 10 minutes a game. We need to entrust the ball in Brook's hands, make him direct the offence, and make him the leader on the court when Nash is not playing.

You see, that's what so frustrating - we keep sticking to the veterans no matter what - even if they are clearly tired or in Nash's case HURT - that does not help our team one bit.
The opposite - it hurts our development of our younger guys. Just look at the minutes or early departments of these guys:

Earl Clark: traded after not even trying to get him some real PT
Goran Dragic: traded after playing around 10 minutes a game
Josh Childress: benched for weekly trash time duties
Aaron Brooks: instead of helping our 37 year old superstar he only gets 14 minutes a game aswell

Then FO and coaches got what they deserved - now 1 starter is out, the other one (our most important one) is wearing down and we have no real solution to that. No young talent or "new Nash" and if we want to see if Brooks can handle that load our coach chooses to ride his old horses again.

Such a shame...we gotta be the oldest team in the NBA right now.
A starting PG (37), starting SG (34) and starting SF (38), this can not lead to success in the end.
If it was working til now - it was pure luck and we all see what happens if some of these guys goes down we are so heavily relying on.

MOVE OF THE SEASON: Getting Gortat - he is the bright point of the season
Prediction for this season: Spurs beat Heat 4:2 in the finals (the revenge of Pop)
I don't like it, but it is highly possible this season with IND and OKC struggling

Excellent post Herman. You mentioned earlier in the year the Suns were playing Nash too much and I agreed for all the reasons above. Remember the Portland game where Gentry took Dragic out after only playing 2:28 of the fourth quarter and Nash was gassed at the end and the Suns lost a close one. He did it several times early in the year. Gentry's been awful this year but everyone defends him.

I think nash should sit. he is no longer dependable with the ball and his defense is just horrendous.

I think that was the turning point of the game, and It was downhill after that. This game was just ugly, i think we need to forget about it.

Pietrus can be a wild card, admittedly, but he plays balls-out and with the same kind of passion Duds has. I like him.

Gortat, Pietrus, Duds, Lawal if he comes back from the ACL and no reason why he shouldn't, Frye stepping up defensively - we'll be a nice defensive team, and that doesn;'t even include Hill, who's been a damned rock for us.

Crap game... just watched it now. Suns looked disinterested after Warrick threw the ball away twice in 2 seconds. Just never got back into the game. For as good as Warrick looked against the Rockets, he looked that bad against Denver. No one really had a good game at all on the Suns.

Lopez is garbage. I've held off on saying that for a long time, but he's total garbage. Worst starting center in the league. I'd rather him not even play at all and only have one true center. Hell, I'd rather have Siler play than Lopez... at least Siler might know how to rebound. It almost seems like Lopez has reverse magnetism with the ball. When's the last time Lopez even got close to 10 rebounds in a game? He also loves getting blocked by players 6 inches shorter than him. Unless he's spoonfed at the rim with no one guarding him, he'll most likely miss or get blocked (and even with no one on him, I'm never confident he'll score, unless its for the other team, like he did against Houston the other night).
