This is why we love Kobe, Kobe haters just wont understand

Post#1 » by KhanAir23 » Fri Mar 11, 2011 5:23 am

Over an hour after the loss, this is how Kobe bounces back. Shooting jumper after jumper for hours. He doesnt make stupid comments post game and blame the world or cry or make excuses. He just practices. He sees the bigger pic, and its not todays game but the rest of this championship run. And thats all Kobe is abt. Period.

Kobe's close to an extra hour on the court. Now three Heat balboys grabbing rebounds and feeding him passes. He's shooting from everywhere.

Crazy thing happening: Kobe's back on the court now, shooting 3-pointers. Miami ball boys fetching rebounds. Kobe's not happy w/ his game.

You might be right. RT @davevoight: @Mike_Bresnahan I assume Miami will follow that win with a victory parade

Kobe is so lathered up he just mopped up the pool of sweat that dripped from him and fell on the floor where he's shooting at the foul line

Safe to say that the about 60 people in this nearly empty arena as the clock ticks towards midnight have a new favorite Kobe Bryant memory

Kobe Bryant is back on the court more than an hour after the final buzzer working on his shot http://plixi.com/p/83117444

Amazing!

After finishing his shooting workout, Bryant headed to the weight room.

One thing - maybe he should have done this BEFORE the game, not after (check Ray Allen). There's an old saying, loosely translated as: "Hood after the rain".

I think Bryant knows that some of the blame is on him for this, good to see

But lets hope he doesn't go in that shoot first mentality saturday

I dont like how much media attention it is getting. It's his job to do that. Is it good? definatly, but it is his job. You dont hear people in an office setting talkin about "Damn susie did great by staying late last night to finish up those reports"

Just saying....But more NBA players should care as much as Kobe does.

I don't like how much Melo trade rumors dominated the NBA for half the season when there were so many more deserving players that should have gotten the attention.

Since when is it mandatory for a player to shoot jumpers and lift weights for hours after a loss, on a road?

He gets paid 20 million dollars a year... And Who said it was mandatory? i just said it shouldnt be made a big deal by the media. Because it really isn't that huge a deal. Every player should do this from time to time.

You said it was mandatory when you said "It's his job." He's not being paid 20 million dollars a year to put in extra hours of practice time. It's not a requirement, or part of his contract. As long as people are buying tickets at Staples, management could care less.

And I agree that every player should do this from time to time, but it doesn't happen. That is why it's a big deal in the media.

LOVE this. This epitomizes Kobe. The guy is a machine. He doesn't care about fame, probably has little to no friends, he lives eats and breathes being the best basketball player ever. Jim Rome once said he ran into Kobe at an LA restaurant on an OFF-SEASON Friday night around 9pm, asked him to stick around for a drink. Kobe's reply: no, I have to get my workout in. Said if he's not, someone else may be.

There isn't another guy in the league like him. Not a Lakers fan, but tremendous respect for anyone with that effort; how can you not root for that?

Ever had a really bad day in the office when your boss keeps breathing on your neck, your coworkers bug the hell out of you and you end up not getting your work done? You stay a little bit late and finally get a chance to DO YOUR WORK when everyone leaves and it's quiet. You experience nirvana. It soothes your soul, gives you personal satisfaction, being in the zen of moment just doing what you love the most.

This is just what Kobe does. The man with the best work ethic in the entire planet can never be denied.
