The more I think about it the more I'm convinced Jones doesn't drop below the top 5 unless he's crazy or extremely demanding.

Imagine how Josh Smith would have looked at a college as a 19 year-old with Jones' hype? people would probably be asking the same questions and asking the same things. They'd criticize his shot. They'd ask which position he should play. They'd wonder how he'd fit in and whether he could be an impact player.

I remember those questions being asked of Josh Smith as a high schooler and I remember thinking they were valid. It might be the same thing with Jones. He might be non-traditional but freakish enough in good ways that you'll feel stupid for passing on him later on. I'm sure a lot of GMs feel the same way about passing on Josh Smith today.

I can't watch the game, unfortunately, but I see that he's taken 8 threes. Has he been scoring in other ways or just taking jumpers?

4/8 from the 3 is pretty good. It's part of why they're back in it.

Pretty much just jumpers, but as a whole UNC couldn't score at all.

They're on a ridiculous run as of late and most of their scoring seems to be coming from the perimeter

Sorry Rhett, I'm at work so I'm just following the box score.

If anyone can break down Barnes' game we'd really appreciate it, thanks in advance!

Man, if his 3 pt shot is really as good as it has looked over the last couple of months and he can continue to defend and rebound very well in the NBA, then I could see him and Demar forming a very nice 2/3 combo that compliment each other perfectly.

Any thoughts?

I'm absolutely terrified of Jones because I think it's probably more likely than not that he winds up a bust. Still, his upside is substantial enough that I wouldn't be upset at all if we took him.

I started watching the game when he was 4-7 which included 2-3 from 3 point land. Since then, he's hit three more 3 pointers in the second half and seemed to be the only one who could score at all on UNC.

He seems to be comfortable bringing the ball up the court and he just has a quiet confidence that you couldn't really see in the beginning of the year. I haven't seen him try to attack the rim though, strictly J's

Yeah, I wasn't trying to marginalize what he's doing but I would like to see more from him than just his jumper, that's all.

Thanks everyone who helped answer my question.

I'm glad that I see some posters giving in to the idea of us drafting PJ and putting him at SF. As a poster note above, in the NBA I think he'd be a sag off defender who hopefully can react and cover with his size and athletic ability. I really like the article that some1 posted about him possibly being a point foward which would ideal for our team. He could create for others at different spots on the floor as oppose to a pg. He definately should be an above avg rebounder at the SF spot. It just gives us more stable options and a direction we can go after the draft with more draft eligeble prospects for us to select.

Zeller comes through with a jumper and it's a tie game- 40 seconds left. Great game.

Sounds like it's time for Barnes to hit his 5th game winner of the season.

22 second left- UNC ball.

Zellar scores with 2 seconds left. UNC wins.

Ohio State just won in OT over Northwestern.

Sullinger put up 22 and 17. Shot atrociously from the floor (3 of 15) but was very good from the line (16-18).

Kendall Marshall can ball. He's the heart and soul of UNC, and if they do anything in the tourney he could skyrocket.

Guess not. He wasn't very clutch down the stretch either. Ten of 13 shots behind the arc. No free throws. One trick pony.

I like the idea in theory, not completely sold on Barnes yet. He doesn't seem to create shots using the dribble against a tough defender, but he is still learning.

I would be happy if we took him.

He's a great defender and a good rebounder & passer. But he's really a jump shooter at this point.

Taking Perry Jones is enticing to me but I just know the Raps are gonna try and make him a Power Forward or Centre. If we draft him, we need a MUCH smarter coach.

Sure, if you don't consider playing solid defense a trick.
