do we have 2 of the top 10 players?

Post#1 » by jonny31623 » Sat Mar 12, 2011 5:44 am

Stat and Melo.

I personally think, without any knick fan bias on my part, that they are both top 10 players in this league.

Rose, Lebron, Wade, Kobe, Durant, Dwill, Dwight, Dirk, Stat and Melo are my top 10. Anyone disagree?

I think the only one who is arguable is cp3, but he really isnt having his best season, like he did in 08'.

Guys to me that have fallen out of top 10 are
duncan,
garnet,
roy
Nash
gasol (i never considered him top 10 but alot of people i know do)

Guys in the next 2-3 years that will enter top 10 if they continue on there current pace are, griffin, westbrook, rondo.

What you guys think?

Other then the heat, were the only team with 2 top 10 players on there team. Thats pretty crazy.

GO KNICKS!!!!!

I have actually had this conversation many times.lol

I think both stat and melo are top 10 players and right now both are ahead of dirk. I agree with your top 10, I would consider melo better than dwill as well.

Curious what your top 10 is then. Gasol aint better then amare thats for sure (playoffs last year proves that point). But honestly just curious.

I dont think Bosh is a top 20 player. Aldridge is better than Bosh Imo and I would take griffin, love and maybe even boozer when healthy over bosh right now. Sorry, I just personally think Bosh is weak.

Aldridge vs Bosh is debatable and Griffin will be better than both, I will give Griffin one more season and if he dominates again which i expect he will easily be top ten or at least top 20. Boozer is very overated imo I just don't like his game  but i have him in top 30 same with Kevin Love who will improve also.

are you throwing out numbers or do you have logical players that should be seen as better than Amare that the other posters may not have?

Melo is the second or third best sf in the game. Only Lebron and Durant (I'd still rank Melo above him right now but most would call that being a homer) are even in the conversation. Amare is behind Dirk and Pau (on a good day).

ok 12-15 is a stretch probably. He's more around 11ish. I wouldn't say top 10 though

What a silly question, of course we have 2 top-10 players.

Shawne Williams and Jared Jeffries are top-5, easily.

My humble opinion.

1 Kobe (6 Rings)
2 Duncan (4 rings)
3 Pierce (1 ring)
4 Wade (1 ring)
5 Rose (MVP)
6 Lebron (MVP last year)
7 Durant (Took champs to 7 games)
8 Melo (Was killing people before trade and didn't miss a step when he came to Knicks)
9 Amare (Saved New York. He had the heart to be first.)
10. Deron Williams (His body of work wasn't defined in Utah and won't be in New Jersey until Jersey becomes a threat.)

I don't understand why fans here are rating Amar'e so highly. The guy is as one dimensional as they come. He's just a scorer. For a PF/Center, he's as bad a rebounder and defender as it gets. People have flip-flopped on the guy. A year ago most fans here didn't even want him and now he's top ten? BS.

Melo is easily top ten. Put some decent players around him (ooops, we can't) and he might be a 25/8/5 guy.

Why do people rate Dirk so high? He's by far a worse defender and rebounder than Amar'e
