I have three players that I would want us to get in round 1 at pick 7. They are Marcell Dareus, Von Miller, and Patrick Peterson. I have no order set but am leaning towards Miller, Peterson, and then Dareus. I think most 49ers fans would agree that Miller and Peterson would be great picks. Dareus some fans might be hesitant because he is a 3-4 DE and that is high for 3-4 DE. However he played 3-4 DE in college and had to be double teamed. So we know he will be successful. I do think most 3-4 DL are not worth pick number 7 but I really like our D-line with Dareus. It would allow a lot of open space for LB's to make plays. I would also be fine grabbing AJ Green. We should hope as many players get taken before pick 7 that are not those three. That includes Fairley, Bowers, Green, Julio Jones, Gabbert, and Newton. Good chance that one or two of those players don't get taken early but if at least four do then we can grab one of the three.
If all three our gone, I would look to trade down but if not possible then I am considering the 6 I mentioned as well as Robert Quinn, Prince Amukumara and Cameron Jordan.

I agree completely. Although, I think Quinn has the most potential of your backup three to be worthy of our pick. If we are going for the other two then we need to trade. I'm really interested to see what will be available for our 2nd pick. Hopefully a quality QB drops.
Also, I read that Alex Smith might come back. If there is a lockout and we can't do much in free agency or trade I think I might be ok with one more year. Does anyone think that the current group of QB's will perform better than him in the next couple years? I think we could sign him to a short contract and let our potential draftee sit for a while to learn the offense. I think drafting any of these QBs and throwing them into the starting line up will only lead to another and possibly worse Smith.

The lockout will probably last past the draft so I agree we probably will have to keep Alex Smith. It will be a lot harder to get a player like Palmer or Orton now since we can't trade this years draft picks. I am not thrilled about it but the lockout really hurts us with a revamped coaching staff. Smith at least knows the players and it could be really hard for another quarterback to learn the system whenever the lockout ends. We should look for a quarterback in either the second or third round.

Does anyone believe it is actually possible for the top 2 corners to go in the first four picks? I'm too lazy to consider the options. Who would that leave for us? Miller will probably still go to the Cardinals so we are in trouble. I think this also proves that the Bengals are serious about going corner. I'm guessing we lost our top 2 prospects.

I think this scenario really means we have to look to trade our pick for more picks. If our players we like our gone it will leave a lot of good players who at one point were being projected as number one overall like Fairley or Bowers. Problem is they do not fit our scheme that well so we have to make a trade.
It certainly is possible but I feel that Cincinnati will look at quarterback and receiver first if Palmer and Ochocinco / Johnson are gone. I find it hard to imagine that a team likes Amukumara better than AJ Green.
