Sac/Tor

Post#1 » by xxPrimierxx » Tue Mar 15, 2011 7:16 pm

Solid trade for both teams id say.

To Sacramento: Andrea Bargnani and Jerryd Bayless + Chris Bosh Trade Exception

To Toronto: Beno Udrih, Francisco Garcia and Sacramento's 2011 first round draft pick.

Why for Toronto: Toronto gets to speed up their rebuilding by filling 2 of the 3 holes in their starting lineup. They have the chance to draft 2 of Harrison Barnes, Kyrie Irving and Enes Kanter.
Andrea Bargnani cannot be a Centre with his defesive deficiencies. He needs a solid defensive big man in the middle to bypass his flaws.

Potential Lineup:
PG/Calderon
Derozan/Weems
Barnes/Johnson
Davis/Amir
Kanter/Alabi.

Why for Sacramento: They can pair up DeMarcus Cousins with Andrea Bargnani making them the most balanced and talented big man duo in the league. Evans and Bargnani can work off of each other as the two main scorers while also getting Cousins his offensive touches as the third option.
Defensively, Bargnani is a good man to man defender. All he lacks is defending the bucket and help side D. That he could learn from Cousins or at least DeMarcus could scare the life out of Bargnani so he at least tries until he gets it lol.

Potential Lineup:
Bayless/Jeter/Head
Evans/Daniels
Cassipi/Green
Bargnani/Thompson
Cousins/Whiteside

Matching of salaries:
Bargnani- $9 250 000
Bayless- $3,042,280
= 12 292, 280

Udrih- $6,925,400
Garcia- $5,800,000
= $ 12 725 400

Kings Outgoing Salary - Raptors Outgoing Salary = Trade Exception to make it an even trade financially.

$12 725 400 - $12 292 280 = $433 120

Thoughts? Tweaks? Or can we sign on the dotted line?

And you'd be wrong in thinking this is solid for both teams.

There isn't a piece that Toronto owns currently that would make sense to send Sacramento's pick for.

Pretty bad for the kings. We aren't giving up that pick in this trade. Udrih has been very good this season so it's not like we are looking to move him for any reason. Bargs would be a decent fit but he is paid very very well and I just don't see any reason for the kings to make a move like this.

Maybe something along the lines of Thompson, Greene and a 2nd for Bargs but I'm honestly not paying more than that.

Sacramento's already at the minimum salary level required by the CBA and don't need any salary relief. The Kings would be much better off using their cap space and lottery pick on players of their own choosing than to waste these valuable assets on the overpaid and defenseless Bargs.

I like this trade for both teams, but Sacramento's pick would have to have some sort of protection, like top 3 or 5.

looks decent but not great. bayless for udrih is a great trade for sac, as bayless is cheaper and younger. doesn't solve all problems for both teams, but gets them going in the right direction.

Toronto would have did better going to a team that has a pick between 10-15 for your offer. Atlanta would give you the best deal unless you take a high draft pick 20 or higher, but most of those teams don't have the need or cap space for him. Nobody really wants or need Bargnani unless you give him away.Marvin Williams and Zaza for Bargnani and Klieza.Whats the worst that could happen with that deal. You get 2 guys who have lesser contracts and can't do any worse than what you got.

Toronto says yes please and no trade backs. I mean yes Beno and Garcia are bad deals right now but the chance to get a top 3 pick paired with our pick next year is too good to pass up we would then draft Kyrie Irving with the better of the 2 picks and either one of the Jones' or Barnes. Then somehow convince Golden State to trade us Biedrins for Barbosa and Klazia or try to convince Mohammad or Dalembert to sign with us in the offseason. Or if we miss out on Barnes go after Michael Gilchrist next year and be really stacked with young talent.

Just curious what does Toronto use the Bosh TPE on? Bargnani, Bayless and a smaller filler would be more then enough to cover Beno and Garcia's deals.

The Kings say F this deal it does nothing for them

Can't see the Kings doing this. I like it for the Raps. Adding 2 top picks is building the OKC way. Bargs/Cousins would make a bad front court unless Cousins improves his work ethic and commits to improving into a good defensive C.

With unlimited lottery protection on that pick you might get closer to making a fair deal, but just closer.
