GT March 16th: Charlotte @ Houston 8:30 PM

Post#1 » by hotrod » Tue Mar 15, 2011 6:11 pm

On with the show.

mikecranston1 Jack got kneed in thigh on Sunday vs TOR, but was fine today and is good to go tomorrow at HOU. Start of 3-game trip. OKC Fri, SA Sat.

mikecranston1 Maybe TruTV could make a promo out of this. #Bobcats' Stephen Jackson on NCAA tourn: "I didn't go to college and I don't care about college"

mikecranston1 Silas says has no plans to start Tyrus Thomas over Boris Diaw. "We're not looking to change anything right now" TT not healthy enough yet imo.

mikecranston1 Silas on 2nd 10-day for Garrett Temple: "I like his game. I like him as a person. I think he brings a lot of good things to this ballclub." Sherron Collins wins Dumb*** of the Year Award.

More from Cranston..
#Bobcats C Joel Przybilla on knee: "I tried to practice today but 20 minutes it just wasn't feeling right. I don't want to make it worse."

We have to win one of these 3 games. And we played Houston pretty well in the first meeting so there is no reason why we can't win again

I actually had us loosing all 3 games and still making the playoffs, but certainly a win here would be awesome. I think if we win any of the 3, this would be the one. We got a great shot.

I wonder if we are gonna wear green vs the Rockets.

:D :D :D Advice to Silas.. The more minutes you play the bench Cunn,DJW, Liv,TT and possibly Temple at 2, and up tempo the more points you will put up and you will get great defense. Wear Houston down and then have your rested starters finish the last 8 minutes of the 4th. If Jax isn't shooting 40% pull him and replace him with Cunningham. And if Diaw is turning the ball over and isn't aggressive get him off the floor and replace him with White?Cunningham. The same with Kuwamee, let TT finish at Center. Keep DJA/Henderson on the floor together and whoever is playing best at the 3,4,5 and win.
I'm a big fan of Jax, but not if he is 4 for 16 going into the 4th. Boris is either on or off and by half time or middle of the third you will know whether to sit him or not. Check Stat book at Halftime and leave the hot players on the floor. Playing 10 deep will rest starters/bench players for Thunder/Spurs back to back.

Got this from the Rockets' board:
Luis Scola received injection for injured knee. Still doubtful for tonight, would not rule out possible return for Boston game on Friday.

Looks like the matchup will be in our favor.

Tyrus Thomas (knee) is a game-time decision for Wednesday due to soreness in his surgically-repaired left knee.

I would say this may be a must win now that Indaian swept the Knicks. Thomas continuing to have trouble with that knee is a bad sign. At least we have DJ White now who can come off the bench just as easily. I still don't think we should shut Thomas completely down because as long as it is soreness he can use the winter to get better. We need him now if we still want to make the playoffs, which Silas and MJ have made clear that is our goal.

Lowry has been killing it since the Brooks trade so DJA is going to have his hands full.

Hendo is going to have to really clamp down on Martin.

Be good for Boris "The Boss" Diaw to turn up tonight and not Boris "Doris" Diaw. We'll really need him and Jax to get hot to win this one.

I've gone past the "getting nervous" stage and am at the "I am nervous" stage when it comes to T2 and his health.

The key to this game is to keep Martin in check, and i think Hendo can do this with his perimeter D.

If TT is not ready tonight, just put him on inactive and have him rested for the back-back this weekend. We'll need him more then. I think DJW can handle the backup PF spot tonight.

Silas says pregame that TT will play and he expects him to be "okay" and basically to play hard. Also says he really likes what the new guys are doing in White and Cunningham.

Great passing again...good use of Diaw as that facilitator in the paint.

Kwa-Man looking active early. With the Rockets having such a small line up that is a great sign for us.
