Trade and Value Question from a Jazz Fan
How highly do you all value A. Afflalo? I would assume very highly.
Who would you keep if both JR and AA received big offers? Both, or one or the other, and who?
If you guys re-up Nene, and JR to reasonably big contracts, what happens if AA and W. Chandler get large MLE offers that are front loaded? Do you match both, or neither given that you just paid other guys?
Lastly, if we were interested in acquiring AA, and our management knew that you would match the offer, would you guys accept Mehmet Okur if he proved healthy before the end of this year and perhaps a pick, or Paul Millsap straight up offer for AA?

Re: Trade and Value Question from a Jazz Fan
I would expect both Chandler and Afflalo to be resigned before they brought back JR. Also the Nuggets could resign Nene (who has stated multiple times that he is not opting out) and still have plenty of cap room to match Afflalo and Chandler even to front loaded MLE deals which would be less then I expected.
And no I do not see the Nuggets accepting a deal trading AAA for Okur, Millsap may be interesting, but I still think the Nuggets should find a new center and move Nene back to PF where he belongs.

Doubtful JR Smith gets a bigger offer than AA or Chandler. If he does, Ild guess they would let him walk and try and bring back Forbes on a decent contract to somewhat fill JRs spot in the rotation. No chance they let AA walk. Doubtful with Chandler as well.

Thats what i figured. Okay, so would you trade Millsap straight accross for AA? Most GM's in the league I think would so i dont even know if ours would but it has just been too long since we had any perimeter scoring.
Thoughts.
Thoughts.

There is no chance AA for Millsap. This coming summer will be busies summer for us.
I would prefer to keep AA , Nene, Chandler, and Forbes on right deal regardless of J.R walking or staying. Cut Ely loose /man needs place to play/
Chandler + Gallo showing promise & there is Felton coming around the corner J.R 's value with the team is certainly not going up!

He has talent, and could develop into a solid role player, I don't know if the Nuggets will keep him, but they will want value if they decide to move him.

Probably a good draft pick, I don't see where the Nuggets would want a player that they could get for Mozgov right now, as they are pretty loaded at every position outside of bigs.

I see Mozgov as the eventual Kmart replacement (move Nene to PF).

I don't see us getting rid of either of the big men we got, Mozgov or Koufos. They are here for the foreseeable future.

I dont know if I would go that far. We will have a huge hole at PF next season and he would fit very, very well. As much as I love afflalo, that is a trade we would have to consider very, very hard. Then we could try and flip Felton for a starting SG.

Re: Trade and Value Question from a Jazz Fan
You guys know better than I (a mere jazz fan) will ever know about how much you value your players. But, I know people on my board would go crazy over a trade like this because they would think that Millsap is way more valuable than AA. They would say that Bigs averaging 17/8 are way more valuable than SG's average 12ppg etc, etc.
My personal feeling is that when both fan bases feel that way, and the player fills a need for the the opposing team, that is when a deal like this makes a lot of sense to both sides. Millsap is an 18/8 type player...perhaps 20/10 on a fast paced team like yours. I also think his smaller size is less of a factor in a faster paced offense.
Call me crazy but I think both players are perfect fits for this trade as well as great fits for their current teams. Its just a question of what are you going to do at PF? I would think your GM would look at a deal like this and say... well I love Millsap, he has a great contract, and he would produce more on our up tempo style than he is already producing in Utah... and then he would probably look at JR Smith as a sufficient replacement to AA if he had to give AA up.
Also, I think from the SF position you have two great players (3 actually when you consider Al Harrington) so wing scoring won't be an issue with the loss of AA.
I think they pull the trigger. Its just a question of will the jazz?
Fan bases I think would be mixed as per usual when you consider both fan bases love their respective players.
