He may have been near or 100% recovered, but since last year he didn't play at full strength he was basically away from his comfort level for a year and a half, sort of like being on fresh legs after a long time of not playing.

from my chair it looks pretty simple.
He is letting the game come to him instead of pushing for it.
I think the departure of Williams and Sloan took a lot of pressure off of him.

From what I've seen he's relying on that push shot less. And it wasn't falling much early in the year. I think his face up jumper and of course his up and under move are more productive than his signature shot.

So, by my eye, he's been taking more productive shots. And that's about all that's changed. Without looking at stats I'll guess he's been getting more looks as well.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

You guys are forgetting the one huge thing too...... Early in the year Al was going up soft. Karl Malone came to town (before Jerry steped down) and talked to Al about finishing strong at the hoop. After this Al started dunking the ball a lot and I mean a lot ever since then his average has started to go up. But early on he missed a ton of shots that he went up soft on trying to lay the ball over the rim. Then Deron went out and he was the number 1 option and he really took over!!!

It wasn't just pep talks. Jefferson has had a bone bruise on his palm for much of the season. His willingness to go strong to the hoop has probably coincided with that particular injury's healing process.

This....I think people just want to pretend it was ever an issue so they can blame Deron

I thought Jefferson started to play really well before D-Will was traded. He turned the corner somewhere in late January/early February.

He did start to play great when D Will was still here but D Will was sitting in his pretty little suit on the side lines against Char. Jan 31st is when his 20/10 streak of good games started the 3rd game DWill missed in a row.
