Actually I hope Lance makes it. A 6'5" point guard with the skills Lance has would be awesome. No question he has more upside than any of the other point guards. But, we probably just played the worst four games of our season. One common denominator was trying to work Lance into some minutes. No one trying to get to the playoffs does something like that with 2 second year players and a rookie at the point.

I went to the Philly game and one of the things I noticed during warm ups was Lance simply messing around. When he got in the game I believe he was turned over twice during a short stretch over handling while everyone else was watching. Then he has the blow up with Granger and Jones.

Not denying that my comments were based purely on speculation. But do you really think if Lance had been a remarkably dedicated student of the game during his down time it would have taken him this long to see court time? Or that if he'd been paying proper attention to his conditioning, during the Dallas he wouldn't have been asking to come out after 5 minutes?

The Pacer organization already admitted to working him into the season so late due to his then pending court case. Once it got dismissed it took him 1-2 games to debut. He's kept the weight off since the summer, so I don't think conditioning in general was the problem. It was the fact he wasn't accustom to that pace. I'm not going to address the Jones and Granger dispute because I've wasted my time doing it at PD and I've gotten no where.

Lance made everyone shoot 26% and give up 60% shooting for the opponent. You're 100% right.

I could see Lance being more than just productive, I just wish he'd start focusing on Basketball!

^ That's the thing, if he focuses in the summer, I think he could start next year.

Collison also has to not do very well. I think right now Collison is still our guy. He's got all-star potential. I think Lance still needs at least a year to develop.

Lance could start against bigger pgs. But I agree Collison can become an all star talent. I just feel he's bailed out too often by his teammates, as weird as that sounds. He's shown the ability to get into the paint but he hasn't harboured his combination of speed and athleticism. I think Lance will show more from his rookie season to sophomore season than Collison has.

I think we need to see what we have in Lance before the end of the season, primarily so we'll know if we need to address a b/u for Darren this offseason. I wouldn't be mad if he backed up both DC and PG for the remainder of the season, because frankly Rush and Price both have a negative impact, the first is a coward and the second just sucks that bad.

A lot will be told once the team decides what they want to do in the offseason. We need to part ways with Price and Lance still has another year. Stay tuned....
