Gallo & Mozgov are the key to winning 2011 NBA championship

Post#1 » by Kashy_Tigray » Wed Mar 16, 2011 3:57 pm

I have been following Gallo and Moz since the New York days. If you can utilize both of them, especially Gallo, into the current lineup effectively; I think this team will be tough to beat. Denver is probably the deepest team in the NBA.

If Gallo can become a Manu Ginobili type player from the Spurs 05 and 07 championship teams; wow that will be scary.

Regarding Mozgov, you should try off the bench at PF - Birdman and C - Moz.

A Birdman and Mozgov front court off the bench would be interesting to see. And have Mozgov start against bigger teams like the Lakers.

Denver will not win the 2011 championship. But I agree that they are a VERY deep team.

Moz might be the key to the NIT championship but that's it. Ya'll NYers love the dude but I haven't seen anything that warrants he play over Bird, Bird has been rock solid since the trade.

How can you say that when he has only played like a total of 30 min in scrub time....

Moz has gotten into the game early a couple times and missed some pretty easy shots. With Bird playing at such a high level you can't just sit him to try Moz out, not this late in the season. Moz will have to wait his turn.

Gallo is the key in not screwing the offensive/defensive flow we have going when he returns.

Shouldnt be too hard as he'll be cutting into Harrington and Bird's minutes.

Bird is rolling. But Mozgov needs the chance.

Karl doesn't risk much putting players if he feels they might not be ready. I am sure he will be careful when Gallo returns.

I love the current rotation and chemistry hope Karl will handle it properly like cutting AL's mins!

Guy has been off the court so long and needs bit more time that he had given. But it could be too late in the season to have experiments.

If you guys don't want Gallo and Moz, I can speak for most NY fans and say we would be glad to have both of them back.

Gallo can be huge for you guys come playoff time. He's probably the best guy in the NBA at drawing fouls that isn't an all star or superstar. Moz, I dunno if he's really an upgrade over Birdman at this point, he didn't play a ton with us.

Mozgov???

If so then It's safe to say that Nuggets aren't winning the championship this year.

I would like to see Mozgov matched up against Pau GaSOFT. Timo is built like an Ox and it would be fun to see him go up against a soft euro.

I think Denver plays Lakers on April 10th or somewhere around there.

 The Birdman is healthy again and has been playing pretty decent basketball for a good stretch of games now.

I agree he is playing better, but Birdman is what 33 or 34 years old? Where was this Birdman all of last year and the beginning of this season? I understand he has been injured a lot, but when he was healthy the last two seasons -- it looked like he was washed up. It seemed the 2008-2009 Birdman was gone. Or maybe that year he was just playing for a contract.

Let's see if he can continue this inspired play. If not, Mozgov and Koufos are 24 and 22 yrs old respectively, and you guys can develop them in the meantime. They are the future, not Bird.

mozgov ain't playing against any good team. wake up dude. and from what I heard Karl is MUCH MORE IMPRESSED with Koufos(sp?).

So he'll probably be the 3rd center in the rotation, mozgov wont be in the rotation this year.

As I suspected in Gallo's first game back -- there was chemistry issues with the rest of the team.

Hopefully this will improve and you guys can bring him into the fray.

You guys are going to love Gallo. He may be the most unselfish team first player I have seen in NY in decades. He always puts team first. He doesnt care if he scores 3 points or 30 points. He just wants the team to win. He is still young and this really is only his 2nd full season so he will continue to grow as a player. By the way he also has a competitive streak. He likes going head to head with the Lebrons, Kobes, etc. I think you will like Wilson as well. He is not a huge talker but he is one of the best finishers in the game. He also will surprise some people with his shot blocking. I hope you guys have a great run in the playoffs. Your team is super deep.

Moz has some real talents for sure. As a Knick he seemed to get nervous early on and pressed. This led to some questionable showings. Then he didnt play for a long time. Once he came back more relaxed he seemed like a totally different player. You cant teach height. He has height, competitiveness, and a decent finishing touch when he plays relaxed. He can rebound and shot block as well. He is probably pressing on his new team but I wouldnt write him off in any way.
