Blake Griffins contract

Post#1 » by gswhoop » Thu Mar 17, 2011 6:23 pm

Hi all I don't mean to intrude your board but I was looking at Blake's contract/. Would this be considered his first or second year of payment in his contract?

He's in the 2nd year of his rookie contract.

The Clippers already used their option on his 3rd season and will do so with his 4th season.
Next offseason our GM will be at his house at the earliest possible moment to present him a maximum contract extansion of his rookie contract.

Our G.M. might even buy the house next to Blake's, just to be on the safe side.

At this point with all the non-sense going on with Sterlings court case i would not say it a sure thing a player like Griffin sticks around after his contract is up. I do think it's a good thing for the NBA and the Clippers if he stays but i does not look good at this point.

Griffin's outta here. It is important that Sterling be booted. Unfortunately Stern would never do that. Can only hope he sells the team. Small possibility he does this if he thinks that Griffin is gone for sure and the value of the team will plummet considerably. Griffin would basically need to say publicly that Sterling needs to go or he won't re-sign.

Must get rid of Sterling by the time Griffin's contract is up

I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

I think that Blake will probably sign the extension. Players almost ALWAYS sign this, as it is financially dumb not to. I really hope that Griffin and EJ (Et Al) can elevate this franchise. If we are competitive, I think he stays.

After seeing himself how easy it is to have a freak accident that can cost you a season, there is no chance in hell Blake plays on a one year contract and blows off an extension with the Clippers. No chance. None.

I think if the Clips don't re-sign DeAndre there is. If more bad press keeps coming out about Sterling there is (don't know how much Blake cares but news sources say he does). If they don't re-sign Eric Gordon he definitely is. He doesn't have to wait to become a FA. He can Carmelo his way out of the Clippers.
