OT - Anyone try Umami Burger in L.A.?
Seems like this place is getting rave reviews everywhere I look, and from the people that I talk to. Also looks like it got "Best Burger in the U.S." from GQ. I'm not sure how many restaurants they have, but its my understanding that the place is expanding pretty rapidly. I haven't had the time to try it, but may go to the Studio City location when I have time.

Yeah it couldn't be more overrated. I wouldn't waste my money going there. Go to Father's Office instead if you want a really good burger.

My girlfriend loves this place. The meat is very good but the fries is so-so, the onion rings suck, and the burger of the bread is disgusting. I remember ordering the truffle burger btw. The meat is really good, I am not sure I emphasized that enough.
Yea and they make you wait for so long too. Waited for almost an hour the first time I went. So that kinda threw me off. I would prefer Ciscos burger still. It's a burger joint in Long Beach owned by Jesse James.
Oh lastly, there's this really really pretty waitress who works there. Shes a blondie, around 5'5". She usually works inside. Her face is a 10 (sorry I tend to ignore big foreheads) but with a body of a 2 (too thin, bad back). Check her out. She's really cute. I totally dig the girl next door look.

It really is one of the best burgers in LA - It is a bit hyped right now as i have been going there for years but i think it's because they are opening more locations so they are getting the looks. LA times says its the best but i think thats a relative term.
Also try "The Counter" it's kinda a specialized burger place that allows you to really customize the burger you want and very good while being a bit cheaper than Umami.
But if you have had a long night of drinking and just want something with a little grease on it and requires many many napkins try old faithful "Fatburger"
