Washington fans have every right to be really pissed about that game.
There was a massive foul differential that really impacted play. Granted it was a homegame for UNC, but I think it was a bit overboard.
The last shot had atleast 1.2 seconds on the clock but the refs chose not to review it (????) - refs wanted to end this game quick - which is also why they didnt call the goaltend at the end.

I think McGee is every kind of stupid, but Henson trying to block a 3 point shot attempt under the rim at the end of the game... no words.

Okay, let's say they put 1.2 seconds on the clock and they called goaltending on the two point shot.

86-85 for North Carolina. What's the issue?

Doesnt hustle on defence and if its an issue in college, it will be a bigger one in the pros. He can shoot though but I didnt see that many contested tough shots. A player who would be a nice addition to a Demar/Ed combo with his outside shot. Im concernced about his effort level though.

He's got a great work ethic reportedly, so one can expect him to make incremental improvements along the way.

This is Ed Davis' view on HB.

personal fouls UNC: 9, Washington: 20. freethrows UNC: 23, Washington: 7

There is no excuse for not reviewing the clock on the last shot. The difference between 1.3 seconds for a shot and .5 is massive.

He's already a top 5 now, and with teams like Cavs, Wizards, Kings all need SFs, I won't be surprised if he's drafted 2nd or 3rd, he and Perry could switch around in that order.

I see Irving, PJones and Barnes making up the top 3 in some order when all is said and done.

They had no timeouts! Let's say they're down 1 with 0.5 seconds left. They are not going to win that game.

You're kidding me, right? You don't know the difference between .5 and 1.2 on a last second shot attempt?

ya - that was an awful shot by Overton. I assume he thought he was going to get fouled any second and was trying to draw contact, but that doesn't excuse it. However, my point still remains.

Lets imagine for a second that there was no discrepancy in calls, that this game wasn't at 9 am for Washington etc.

Washington should have had a last second shot with 1.4 seconds. Romar asked the refs and they said no.
There is a massive difference between 1.4 seconds and .5 seconds for getting off a three pointer.

Well at least there were no dumb players fouling a half-court shot right? That 7.1 seconds in Butler game was cra-eh-zy!!!

Look, I dislike Washington as a team. They are one of my favourite teams biggest rivals.
Despite everything that occured, Washington still had a chance to win, and they blew it.
With that said, I hate watching games where the refs make obvious mistakes that alter the game.
There is no excuse for not putting time back on the clock.

The difference between .5 and 1.2 is HUGE when it comes to last second shots. with .5 you have to catch and shoot, with 1.2 you can make a play, pump fake or dribble and shoot. I don't know how anyone can dispute the difference.

Washington should have won it but they played the worse 5 minutes of basketball i've seen in a while. Even the Raptors are better than that.

I mean i'm pissed they lost I had them elite 8.

They'Ve been likte that the whole year...all-world potential with all-world bottlers.

Wash vs Pitt next year would be a good match-up. Pretty sure both teams would bottle it for 5 ot.
