you call me naive, yet you use +/- in your argument
awesome.
So I guess we should have just benched Favors the entire game.

It's not just +/-. There's not a metric out there that shows Bell outplayed anybody this game.

Just so you know, + - is a fact. It may not be the "be all tell all" stat, but it's there. But ok, if you think it's a positive for us to play Bell for 30 mins over AK and Hayward, good for you. How's that working out for us?

Bell wouldn't have played 30 mins over AK if he were healthy. I know AK said he was good, but him playing 20 was precautionary because of his back.
Bell defensively on Martin >>>>>>>> Hayward defensively on Martin
Fact
The obsession some of you have on Hayward is ridiculous, yes he has potential, but that is about it at this point and anyone who thinks he could have checked Martin better than Raja did needs to get their head examined (Soulpatch)

Exactly, so what makes you think Hayward could have done better? Hayward has shown flashes but that is it, he has much worse games than good ones.
Not to mention everytime Martin would have drove on him it would have been an automatic foul, he would have fouled out in the 3rd quarter.

Also if you want to use "facts" like +/- on the season Raja has the 2nd worse, guess who HAS the worst?

Re: Jazz @ Rockets game thread.
Hayward might not have defended Martin as well as Bell did but he would have done more on offense and the glass. Raja Bell was the best defender against Martin but he wasn't the best player we could have played in the fourth.

Again, I do not argue that Hayward is better offensively, it would be foolish to do so. All I'm saying is that defensively at this stage it isn't a contest especially considering the fact that Hayward gets almost everything called against him right or wrong.
Yes Raja sucks offensively, but we still scored 108 and we missed a million freethrows, throwing in Hayward for more offense and less defense would have been astounding bad judgement call by Corbin. He already made the mistake of not trying to ride AK (if we win against Memphis and AK plays big minutes, I'll forgive him) but if he made the mistake of letting Hayward try and defend Martin which would have most likely resulted in him going for 40, than I would have lost any confidence whatsoever In Corbin for the rest of the year.

Re: Jazz @ Rockets game thread.
Harris had a real tough game. Harpring was right he needs to get better at finishing near the hoop. Al had a problem with the little men down low. Rockets are a good club. This is just not our year. I want to see how this team finishes the season against the best in the west. Get Favors out there more at the 4 and 5. We really might want to make some huge changes at the gaurd positions again. Like get back all the good ones we got rid of!

I'd like for Harris to maybe occasionally look for teammates once he starts driving to the hoop. It's jarring to see a point guard in a Jazz uniform drive to the basket so frequently with blinders on.

yah that hopefully will come in time. people are not respecting his drive as much yet when they do people will be more open around the basketball. Also our lack of outside shooting has teams just parking in the post. We need outside scoring very bad!

I actually think finishing near the hoop is something Harris is amazing at. Not so much this past game, but in general, that's the one skill of his I've found to be notably superior to Deron's.

Re: Jazz @ Rockets game thread.
Al disappointed me most, hes playing phenomenal lately, but his two bad games in past few weeks where against T'Wolves-when Pekovic/Milicic duo was too big for him, and now vs Rox when Hayes was to smal for him, seriously is sound like some kind of joke, only not funny for a JazzFan.gojazzmjsucks wrote:Al had a problem with the little men down low
Although i have give Chuck a credit he is not even big enough to play as a forward and still for the hole season hi is dealing with all those big mans, simply- "hart is what makes a difference"
I just don't understand why he is not playing like that all the time, is it because that late injury, or perhaps he is thinking to much of hes game and by that he is trying to modify/expand it? In my opinion if that 2 option is true he is making big mistake, simple thing are the most effective, just look on Tparker example.The59Sound wrote:I've found to be notably superior to Deron's.

OK.... lets see... Harris/Jefferson shooting was pretty bad... plus the offensive boards for Houston in the 4th.... plus the refs allowing Rockets to do some pushing stuff all the game... plus only 2 travelling calls on a dude that travels virtually every time he gets the basketball (Kevin Martin... no wonder he use to easily escape his defenders)... ok... it was close...the fight was there mostly... but we get no love and it shows... no playoffs won't be because of this game anyway...
We need a shooting guard man... badly...
lol at Millsap...
