Other than #1, 2 or 3? Sure.

They have like a 30 something % of drafting 4..while a 25 % chance of drafting 1...along those lines.

I see what you're saying, but if they finish last they have the best chance at #1, then #2, then #3. They have to get burned 3 times to land in 4th which is just brutal. It happens, but it's brutal.

I dont really give a **** how many points you can score as a PG. Im more interested in knowing how many penetrations you can stop.

This isn't the thread for you then. A top 5 pick is about acquiring the the best talent available.

Even if there is a lockout, they will still get their rookie contracts the following year. Better than taking a chance and getting injured in college.

That list usually comes out at the end of the ncaa tournament, or if the team that player is on is out of the tournament. But then again, they usually change their minds near the deadline that to declare into the draft.

Before the freshmen joined their new digs, I was all about Harrison Barnes. Then it was all about Kyrie Irving or die trying! Now after watching a boatload of games, while reading stats and scouting reports I really warmed up to both Kemba and Knight.

I remember Kemba killing it last season and he's only improved this year. He's having a really strong tourny and I have feeling that his workouts are going to blow some minds. Then you have Knight who seems to have all the tools required to become a player, he has skill, size, i.q, etc. I think the fact that he's considered ideal pg size and combine that with his youth and It's highly likely that he's going to move up the draft boards.

When it's all said and done, I fully expect both Kemba and Knight to at least end up in the top 6. Seems like a few of us are really warming up to idea of drafting them as well. There's a good chance that were going to be picking 5th so at least there decent options from there.

My board
1. Kyrie Irving
2. Harrison Barnes
3. Kemba Walker
4. Brandon Knight
5. Williams/P.Jones - tie

Talent is about how you play on both sides of the ball. Not just how many points you score. This thread exists for people like me to counter balance the OMGWTF!DUDE CROWD DID YOU SEE HIM SCORE 40 POINTS WE NEED TO DRAFT HIM AND TRADE ED DAVIS FOUR MOAR OFFENSE!!1one crowd.

Kendall Marshall has been playing out of his mind lately. He'll improve over the next year or two at UNC and could be a mid/late first round steal a la Rondo. It'll be fun to watch him facilitate on an NBA squad. I could definitely see him running an offense one day w/o demanding the ball much. If he feels the need to score it's definitely an option. He can shoot a bit & knows how to finish around the basket. Watch his highlights from UNC's last game and tell me who he reminds you of. And don't say Jose bc he actually plays a little D.

btw I really hope UNC wins it all so that Barnes can accomplish his main goal of leaving on top. If Carolina (unlikely) wins it then he'll have nothing left to accomplish as a Tar Heel that he can't do by taking summer classes. He'd likely be a top-3 lock this year. The Heels are pretty talented and should beat Marquette, but they'd need to beat Ohio State in the Elite Eight, then Duke in the Final Four to play for the title. We don't want Irving leading Duke to the finals since that would make him a lock for the #1 pick (e.g. D-Rose). It's been a wild tournament, so who knows? The city of Richmond has the same amount of teams in the Sweet Sixteen (VCU & Richmond) as the Big East . Four double digit seeds remain. The ACC was the most hated on conference this year, yet they are the only one with three teams left.

I'm very happy that most of the top prospects are in the Sweet Sixteen. Derrick Williams, Jared Sullinger, Kyrie Irving, Terrence Jones, Kemba Walker, Brandon Knight, Kawhi Leonard, Jimmer Fredette, Chris Singleton, The Morris twins, Josh Selby, Justin Harper, Harrison Barnes & the rest of UNC are all still playing?! Alec Burks & Klay Thompson are still alive in the N.I.T. as well. I'm excited for the games/competition, but from a draft perspective, things are about to heat up. The next few weeks will shake things up a lot.

Irving is already the lock #1 so it doesnt really matter whether Duke wins it all.

I do agree with you that having a significant number of prospective lottery picks still alive makes its particularly interesting tourney.

I think his defense to be Calderon-esque. He's slow laterally, doesn't fight through screens, doesn't close out hard, opposing teams attack him when he's on the floor.

He's an amazing passer, though. Way more potential than Jose in that area. Reminds me of Mark Jackson.

yeah Kendall's court vision is superb, reminds me a lot of Kidd (the older Kidd, not the athletic PG that he was when he came into the league).

Weird other than fredericklove I don't know who that person would be. Derrick Rose was drafted for his skills at the offensive end not defense. Same can be said for John Wall, Durant etc. Thabeet and Oden were drafted for their defense...

top 5 picks have to be about the most talented player not need.

Totally agree. But It should also be about need imo. I like to take the BPA/need approach. Once I figure out where we would be drafting, that's when you begin to break down the remaining prospects to see who is the "most" talented out of the bunch, who has a high upside, while fitting a need.

If had to chose today and we were in the 4-5 spot. Give everyone a hard look. I have faith in B.c to find the BPA

Disagree. We are in no position to base picks on need. We take the best available player and collect assets for future trades. Even if the player is a PF or SG. Highly doubt it because I dont see the Raptors passing on Barnes/P. Jones/Irving, Wouldn't mind moving down to pick Knight either.
