Exactly. UNC is still playing, and if he said he was considering strongly about leaving, that would be the story rather than UNC playing in the Sweet 16. Just the smart answer. Wait till the season is over, and when he is clearly a Top 3 draft pick, he will declare for the Draft.

I just love how a week ago nobody said a word about Brandon Knight, and now everyone loves him and wants to go with him. LOL

Anyway, how did our SF targets look in their Second (or third now, whatever) Round matchups?

Harrison Barnes: 22 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 steals (also 3 turnovers)
Terrence Jones: 12 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 0 steals (also 2 blocks)
Jordan Hamilton: 18 points, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals (also 2 blocks and 3 turnovers)
Kawhi Leonard: 16 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals (also 4 turnovers)
Tyler Honeycutt: 13 points, 3 rebounds, 4 asists, 2 steals (also 4 blocks)

I'd say the three most impressive have been Barnes, Leonard, and Hamilton--in that order

my biggest problem with Barnes is he just looks out of his element when driving to the basket......but his jumper is soooo text book i can over look that

Agree 100%

If you are all but guaranteed going in the top 5, its just smart business to declare and get your pay check. Who knows what could happen next season, why gamble?

That's exactly what his agent would be telling him and why he will probably declare at the end of the season when things settle down a bit.

DraftExpress As Bono would say, El-e-va-tion. RT @lukewinn: This shot of Jimmer Fredette might just end up on SI's cover. http://bit.ly/ftZZ9e

I noticed this in his last game also. He gets up on his J.

hypothetical question time

lets say we get picks 9 and 18. assume we didnt draft a pg/combo guard at 9 and either drafted a wing, power forward or center.

at 18, some how, all three of jimmer fredette, kemba walker and brandon knight are still on the board. higgins and MJ decide the value is too great to pass up and they will definitely take one of the 3. which guy would you want them to pick and why?

Walker, duh. Jimmer will suck (ceiling = Redick) and Knight has the look of a mediocre, ho-hum player. Regardless of his size, Walker will easily have the best career of the three.

I take Kemba Walker out of those 3. But I do think Jimmer will be a better player than many think. More of a SG who has some handles. Knight to me is the wild card. Had an OK year, but really turned it on at the end. I think he has a higher ceiling than Jimmer, but just not so sure he is capable of getting there. I think Walker becomes a very solid PG who will play a long time as a starter. Jimmer will be a very solid player off the bench in rotation for 15-20 min/game. Knight is a risk for either being just as good as Walker or a bust.

I would choose Knight for three reasons, he's 6'4 and I think a big point guard is an advantage, he's an excellent defender, and I think one-way players (no defense) are a cancer to a team, and he's only 18, and I think he's going to get better.

I can buy Sullinger more than Barnes since Sullinger is from Columbus.

Scouting Updates

Best SF Prospects:
Perry Jones: Projected as going as high as #9 he could fall into our lap (by the gods that would be amazing) he is a 6'11 player with good speed and incredible athletism who could add another dimension to our offense.

Terrence Jones: Projected as going as high as #13 he has had an incossistent late season, none the less I still love the kid and his play.... But I am starting to like Barnes more...

Derrick Williams: Hands down the most efficient scorer I have EVER seen.... Hate to say it but I told you so (projected as going as high as pick 3).

Harrison Barnes: The jury is still out on this kid as projections range from him landing #3 to #9, but one thing is certain he can win....

Kawhi Leonard: I love this guy, he reminds me of Chris Webber!

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Best PG Prospects

Kyrie Irving: Chris Paul

Kemba Walker: for all the sh*t this guy gets he sure performs well, the criticism he receives is similar to what AI and Hardway recieved....

Jimmer Fredette: Dido the above except he isnt the athlete that Walker is..... But plays with a higher BBIQ.

Demetri McCamey: Could be a poor mans Deron Williams....
-------------------------------------------------------------------
SG Prospects: WEAK
Travis Leslie: Defies gravity but has a while to go before he can be the player he is meant to be.... Player comparison is Iggy.

Alec Burks: This kid has a sweet mid range game coupled with a good inside game, needs to work on his D though. Player Comparison: Dwayen Wade/ Marcus Thornton mix.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
PF prospects

Jared Sullinger: Why so many people hate on this guy is beyond me, he will be a good-great starter in the NBA who could blossom into an all-star. Player Comparison: Paul Millsap/David West

Marcus Morris (M&M): So far I havent seen this guy play, soon thatle change though....

Kenneth Faried: THis guy is a tad short even for the PF position, but he is the best rebounder I have EVER seen...... Even better then K.Love was comming out of college.

Jujuan Johnson: A great player who could immediately deliver as a sixth man... Watch this guy, I bet he will be the Landry Fields of the draft....
-----------------------------------------------
Centers
Enes Kanter: Usually I am so biased against Euro prospects that I dont scout them, however this guy plays like a american, he is a beast in the post who is relentless when rebounding.... I feel that he could easily be in the ROY discussions next year.

Kieth Benson: I introduced this guy earlier this year in one of my posts, since then he has done nothing but impress, I love his shot blocking ability and athletism, I have to wonder what he would be able to do if he contested more shots though....

My ROY Predictions:
1. Derrick Williams: He is efficient, and if he lands in Washington under a new coach he will certainly be John Walls favority target.... I could see him immediately averaging 17 (through 20) ppg, 9 rpg, all while shooting efficiently.
2. Harrison Barnes: Winning isnt a statistic but it sure as hell makes an impression upon people, if he lands in Detriot (or Toronto) he will definitely have a chance to raise the W's.
3. Kyrie Irving: Cleveland needs a Pg, but they also need a dominant scorer, Kyrie can be both.
4. Enes Kanter: Who are we kidding, if this kid lands with the TWolves they will have one nasty rebounding squad.
5. Alec Burks: He is projected to land on the Cavs 2nd pick, and in that organization he would light up the scoreboard.

I think Kemba is going to be a special player. He has swag all over him and is already a great ball handler. His improvement in one year is incredible. And UCONN guards have a good track record.

I will be very disappointed if we have the opportunity to grab him with the NOH pick and we don't.

I just get Sean May vibes with Sullinger. Different sites have him between 250-280 pounds and he's only 6'8". I can't really explain it but when I've watched Sullinger play this year, I see the UNC Sean May that happens to be "the man" instead of sharing the spotlight with McCants and Felton.

Kawhi Leonard plays absolutely nothing like Chris Webber.

Chad Ford has said he lowered his draft rank because he is under a contract with a big buyout in Euro so wouldn't be here for year or two, so apparently the contract issue is causing rankings variations.

But there are also wide opinions of the 18 yo 6'10" 230 who plays center like a center. Have seen him compared to Zydrunus Ilgauskus when first in the league, before the multiple foot injuries. Others compare him to a young Pau Gasol. Have also seen people that think he's too thin and a project.
