I'd be down for sure. The only guy I really like this year is Kyrie Irving, but I doubt he comes out, and if he does I doubt we would be in a position to get him.

Re: Jerry: Trading The Pick Is a Possibilty
The Kings could obviously put together a tremendous package for a star on the block, but who might that be? Melo's gone. D-Will they took a shot on but....gone. Chris Paul? If the NBA controlled team trades Paul for the package we'd send out owners are going to hissy fit until the end of time.
At the end of the day I think the best bet is to keep that pick and hope that 3rd guy can be found. If we were desperately in need of a that main hub 1st option I'd probably be a little more bearish on this upcoming draft, but we don't! I do however think there are at least 5-6 guys that would be a great fit and could easily be that 3rd wheel next to Reke and Cousins. I'm just glad the Kings started really sucking 2 years ago.

I think we should target Granger. Paul George seems like a fine replacement, so they might be looking to deal him.

That was my first thought as well. But I still think Granger is a bit overrated but he would fit here pretty well.

Yup, i have been saying this since the beginning of the season. We need to target Danny Granger. Trade JT, Omri, and our pick (#2-5) for Granger and their pick (#10-15).

Indy doesn't want JT. They are as deep as the Kings in big men. Hansborough/Hibbert/MCRoberts.
JT's has value to a team that needs a scoring/rebounding big man. Like Phoenix.
Just saw Dalemebert keeping options open. Funny.

I would rather target Luol Deng as I think he could be a great fit and would come at a cheaper cost. I'm thinking something along the lines of THompson, Garcia, Greene for Deng. They save plenty of cash and get a good 3pt shooter and another good big man. The kings use their draft pick on one of the good 3pt shooting PF's in the draft.

you think Chicago would part with him? They are pretty solid and I am not sure they are ready to downgrade talent.

Re: Jerry: Trading The Pick Is a Possibilty
Here is the way you need to look at this:
For this draft, if the pick is #1 or #2, you have a POTENTIAL game changer/perennial all-star caliber player at two positions in Irving and the Serb kid (who reminds me of a MUCH more physical Dirk if anything).
If the pick is #'s 4-7, you have group of guys whose potential (not CEILING) is to be average a really good (i.e. maybe 1 or 2 ASG's on a 55+ win TEAM) starters or SMOY type bench/role/sometime starter guys ( like a Jamal Crawford ).
Anything from 6 or 7 on down to about 20 to 22 is going to result in a guy who CAN reach that level (again, not CEILING, that is different) but more than likely will turn out to be a solid role player with some very good stretches from time to time.
So, if you are thinking that getting our impact guy could be doing so through this draft if landing one of those top two picks happens, then trading it only happens if you are going to get that in return. That means NOT Granger (who does NOT make the guys around him better) but rather looking at a CP3 who makes the whole TEAM and ESPECIALLY Tyreke and DMC become a contender. If you DO draft Irving (if we were to get that pick), you are basically saying that we are going to continue on the slow rise program and wait the 2-4 years that it takes him to mature into a top-flight NBA PG.
Now if you end up with one of the lower picks, then it becomes a LOT more obvious to me that trading is the thing to do. And in this scenario, the move for a DG-type makes the most sense since you will then turn around and throw a boatload of cash at D-Will or CP3 or somebody like that and offer them a ready-made young/vet team in place with an anchor defensive Center (Sammy), two young up and coming stars and an an established all-star (DG or Deng or similar) as well as a vet and athletic bench with solid role players (JT, Cisco, Greene and Beno) and a SMOY candidate (Thornton). Al of a sudden this becomes a VERY attractive contention situation virtually OVERNIGHT for ring seekers as well.

Re: Jerry: Trading The Pick Is a Possibilty
Valanciunis has yet to prove to be anything like Dirk. Also he'd be a big time project. Not sure if I'd want to wait on someone like that--especially with Hassan already here.
It might be Irving or trade for me--although I also wouldn't mind Walker. I basically agree that I'd really like some veteran presence, as I've been saying for a while. It basically depends on what's available. Granger is somebody I'd certainly like though.

Very good questions and very satisfying and insightful answers. I haven't kept up with college ball this year, so Jerry's comment on this draft being one of the worst in the last 10-15 years scares me. On the other hand, Petrie is great at drafting players. I'd be open to a trade depending on where we land.

Start a deal with Iguodala for Thompson and the pick...other fillers as needed. Any interest??

Not bad, value-wise.
But Iggy kinda plays similar, style-wise, like Tyreke. So, I have doubts that they can be all that great together. If the Kings are going to bring in a high usage, primary scorer into this team, at least that said player can shoot very well ala Granger. Iggy is a decent shooter but not good enough to fit here imo.

Re: Jerry: Trading The Pick Is a Possibilty
If the Wiz end up getting the #1 pick and you guys end up around 4 or 5, would you be interested in moving up for Irving. The Wiz need a PF like Cousins (I believe he'd be a monster PF next to McGee) and would something like: Blatche, #1, ATL pick (#19) for Cousins, #5.
We could add Crawford as another incentive for your #34 if that helps.
