GT Mar 23 Wed Indy @ Charlotte 7PM

Post#1 » by fatlever » Mon Mar 21, 2011 9:55 pm

HUGE game!!!!

Last realistic chance to catch Indiana for the 8th seed is Wednesday. To say this is a must win game is the understatement of the year.

To all the tankers, give it one more game before you start in with the "i hope we lose stuff". If we lose to Indiana, then go for it. scream tank from the top of the new duke energy building. but for the next two days, lets try to get behind this team one last time this season and root for a win. it all comes down to wednesday. win, we still have a shot at playoffs. lose and its over. we are lottery bound.

LETS GO CATS!!!!

ps: its also nascar night.

we are 0-3 vs the pacers. regardless of playoffs or draft position we need to win this game to have a little **** pride. getting swept by the pacers this year would be one of the more embarrassing team accomplishments in franchise history.

I dunno, we've been pretty good at racking up embarrassing team accomplishments this year.

Besides, who can forget the games we dropped to the Nets last year.

**** tanking. We need to win this game and we need to reach the playoffs. It would be a shame not do so with an opportunity to make them with a really pathetic record. Bout the record against Pacers - I remember compiling all those stats in a thread about a month, two months ago. The one with our bad records against all of the other playoff contenders. As I said those losses against Philly, Pacers, Bucks are now coming back to haunt us.

OK, it can't be bad to let the door open and motivate Bucks even more  :D

  Every Game I watch I am rooting for the Bobcats and then I end up shaking my head, but still come back for more. MJ can relate to this having lived in Chicago and rooted for the CUBS year after year. I think we should try to win every game possible, but at the same time concentrate on playing our younger players more minutes. If we are down over 12 points starting the 4th, pull Diaw and Jax and DJ and Kuwamee. Give more time to Temple at point and/or two. If we get down to last two games and we have a chance then mix the starters with whoever has earned the minutes. Stats by quarters  keep team players on the floor not egos

Go team, go! Not even when we're in tank mode should we lose to the Pacers 4 times in a season. Have some dignity... then back to losing.

mikecranston1 Silas on Jack: "That injury is a bad injury. You get out there and you think you can do it and all of a sudden you tweak it again."

mikecranston1 Jack: "I'm playing, for sure. ... I feel a lot better, not as sore. ... I'm not going to be 100 percent the rest of the season."

If we want to loose, we need injured Jax. He's going to chuck shots all over the court and this automatically leads to a loss

It's a sad state of affairs in the NBA when this game has playoff implications.

I'll be at this game, can't wait. There is a reason that the bobcats are in dead last in fan loyalty, and it's half this board. It's the same problem with the Panthers. More people root against the team than for it. Go all out for one more game, while we still have a chance to make the playoffs. You have to realize that even 1 win in the playoffs would be a huge deal and make it worth while for us. If we win today, we still have a chance. If we loose, then root for us to keep loosing all you want. But you have to root for this team one last time at least, just see what happens. I know i'm real excited to go to this game, hopefully others are there with me. It's pathetic to be a fan of a team from a city that could care less and roots against it. Especially after having gone through loosing a team and being lucky enough to get another team back. It's embarrassing.

FWIW, I think most of the Charlotteans on the board are more positive than the out of towner fans (myself included). I know a lot of people don't care about the team in Charlotte and I've heard first hand from relatives the openly rooting against, just saying... I don't see it on this board very much from the base's local residents.

I feel offended if someone suggest wanting to tank is rooting against the team and opposite of loyalty. Quite the opposite.

It's one thing to want to tank when you can no longer make the playoffs, or have absolutely no shot of making them. It's something completely else to wish for the team you are supposed to be a fan of to lose when they are tied in the standings for the 8th seed or cheering on a horrible talent dump while still in the playoff race.

Being successful now is better than being successful later.

Being successful now does not mean you cannot still be successful later.

Being a failure now does not mean you will be successful later.

It was completely stupid for the organization to give up on this team that was still very much in the thick of the playoff race, and it is shameful that people around here were talking more about our lottery positioning when we were one game back in the loss column of the 8th seed in the playoffs, with the next game against the team currently in the 8th seed.

No matter where we will draft, rest assured that someone that gets drafted after our pick will end up better than our guy. That's not being pessimistic, that's just stating the odds. Get over this fascination with draft positioning and realize it guarantees NOTHING. Of all teams, we should recognize this.

As long as we are trying to win, we should move Thomas into the starting lineup and move Diaw to SF (if Jackson is injured).

would diaw be able to keep up with granger? i'm afraid diaw's extra weight prevents him from being as effective a small forward as he once was.
