The writeup on DX sounds pretty impressive, he seems a little foul prone, but otherwise looks like a good prospect.

Whats everyone take on Tobias Harris? He's most likely to declare for the draft. I have been pretty impress with what he have done in the tourney... beyond that I don't know. He could be our late 1st or early 2nd.

Well I can tell you guys that Valanciunas is gonna mesure higher than 6' 10. That is because in Europe they mesure players w/o shoes. I remember Bargnani went from 6'11 to 7'1. I wouldn't mind if Bobcats drafted him, but by all means he will be a project and not somebody who could get big mins right away. Unlike Jan Vesely he is the most ready euro this year. I have followed him since his days in Slovan (slovenia) where he played with Goran Dragić. He is one of my picks for Bobcats first rounder. The guy can play. He will be a tweener at first but I think eventually will get stronger and will play PF full time. He went through two of the arguably best programs for developing players in Europe Slovan and Partizan. I see a bit of a young KG in him as he should develop to be an excellent pick n' roll defender.
But in my opinion the Bobcats should draft guys who could be top tier players in the league. There are 2 that stand out in this draft Kyrie Irwing and Harrison Barnes, but Bobcats need to get lucky to get them. At no. 10 or so where our pick is likelly to be guys I like Kemba Walker, Brandon Knight, Jan Vesely, Terrence Jones in that order. I would stay away from Perry Jones, Enes Kanter, Motiejunas and Henson. In my opinion all of this players are far more likely to bust than to ever reach their potential, and the last thing we need is another lottery bust.
I haven't done much research for NOH pick but Kenneth faried seems like a guy we should go after. He broke Duncans rebounding record and rebounding is something that usually translates to NBA. Sure he is undersized and lacks potential but every team needs this kind of players (Brian Grant, Reggie Evans, Jason Maxiell) and Oakley would make him a beast. Faried could be our enforcer. To me he is a perfect pick in mid to late teens where NOH pick should be. MJ and Oakley talked about having more phisical big men, here you have one that could be had for cheap.

How many "projects" have turned out successful lately? Honest question. You don't seem to hear too many success stories about those type of players anymore. Either you are good and continue to get better like most players or you suck. There don't seem to be too many cases of teams "grooming" a player for five years then him suddenly exploding into a star.
I want no part of "projects." Whoever we draft doesn't have to immediately come in and be a 35mpg starter, but he damn sure needs to be good enough to earn at least 20mpg his rookie season (especially on this team) and he should continue to improve as he goes along. None of this Ajinca stuff, where you let them play overseas, or expect them to get only garbage minutes their first two seasons in the league. Oh, hell no. That would really make me go ballistic.

I actually wouldn't mind a project pick in the second round if there weren't any options screaming "take me" on the board. The International field is a huge part to the Spurs success but I guess the argument is that they have good scouts and we don't.

Yeah this seems to be my impression as well, outside of maybe a few players (can't even think of one though), projects tend to stay that, projects.

this team needs players that can play right now but i would be again a project if he is not going to rot on the bench like lexy did.

Calling Ajinca a project is like... It's like... I don't know. But were there seriously any people who thought he would be good?

Being French I might know a bit more about Ajinca than you guys.
He sucks balls.

But were there seriously any people who thought he would be good?
You don't know the half of it...some thought he was good enough even after he was traded to Dallas.

Re: 2010/11 NCAA Game Thread/Prospects Watch
I'm starting to get nervous based on where all the Euros show up on draft lists - between 7 and 13 - that we are going to end up with one.
I read a little about Jan Vesely who is on the CHA map. Looks like more aggressive than usual on offense but usual bad defense weak rebounding Euro:
"From a physical standpoint, Vesely remains the same extremely intriguing athletic specimen. He has terrific size and length for a small forward at 6-11 and couples that with incredible explosiveness. He looks a lot more confident in trying to utilize his athleticism as of late, as he's been responsible for a number of unbelievable dunks this season. He's gaining a reputation for being somewhat of a Blake Griffin-type spectacle at this level, doing things that people just aren't accustomed to seeing in European basketball.
At least once a game, Vesely will take off from inside the paint (or even outside it) and try to dunk on an opponent emphatically. His penchant for challenging defenders at the rim and the nastiness with which he tries to cram the ball down their throats any opportunity he has is both wildly entertaining and something NBA scouts will love to see, considering the athleticism he's showing in the process.
Another area in which we're seeing progress is in Vesely's post-up game. He will always have a size advantage at the small forward position at 6-11, and he's slowly learning how to use this better. While he hasn't added much weight to his frame since we last saw him, he does have the ability to establish position reasonably close to the basketball and then just shoot over his opponent. If he can continue to fill out his frame and improve his footwork in the post, this could become an even more dangerous weapon for him down the road.

"Even with his prodigious athleticism, Vesely still isn't much of a presence on the glass. He grabs just one defensive rebound for every 10 ½ minutes he's on the court, which is a very poor rate. It's here that his lack of girth and poor instincts seem to show the most. He's too skinny to put a body on opponents, and he doesn't pursue the ball off the rim the way you might hope.
Defense is the part of Vesely's game that is most likely to spark debate when it comes to his future. On one hand, you cannot ignore the terrific physical tools Vesely enjoys – his excellent size, length and athleticism allow him to get his team plenty of extra possessions in the form of steals and blocks. He's also an intense competitor who's always willing to stick his nose in to get the job done, which definitely helps.
On the other hand, it's tough to ignore the fact that opposing coaches in Europe clearly game-plan against him, trying to create situations where they can isolate their best wing player against him with space to operate. In these situations, Vesely tends to struggle. He has difficulty getting in a low stance at his size and just doesn't have the lateral quickness to stay in front of the extremely quick and aggressive shot-creators he often finds at the small forward position.

You made it through a season of Dominic McGuire so I think you can handle a season of Cunningham.

Perry Jones is projected to drop to 9th, meaning we have a good chance at drafting him.. I think he should be our number one target now, what do you guys think?

WT:
Sources say the Charlotte Bobcats are targeting Kemba Walker.
According to ESPN.com, Bobcat owner Michael Jordan is a "big fan" of Walker's.
Walker is projected as a lottery pick, while the Bobcats sit three games out of eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
