Jays' Home Opener a Sellout

Post#1 » by SharoneWright » Wed Mar 23, 2011 4:40 pm

No real other place to put this... but thought it was a good tidbit. Looks like the buzz is already translating north of the border. For those of us who wanted to be there, we're going to have to scrounge a bit. ...

The Blue Jays will open the 2011 season on April 1 at Rogers Centre in front of a sold-out crowd, the team announced on Wednesday.

Maybe the other angle worth mentioning is on the business side - if Rogers can get that attendance back climbing, the TBJ's organizational worth is bound to move up from 27th out of 30 teams.

The Toronto Blue Jays are the fourth least valuable franchise in Major League Baseball according to Forbes magazine.

A better indication is sure to be the attendance on night 2!

Now that I'm out of school and have a job, I'll be attending a lot more Blue Jays games. I usually attend only 1 or 2 per season.

The Jays home opener is usually a sellout, a better indication will be how they do at the gate on Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday is the Bautista bobblehead giveaway. I'm heading down for that one. It's opening weekend though, Saturday and Sunday should be near sellouts.

it's kind of good (for Rogers) that the game isn't against Bos or Nyy, as those games tend to do well attendance-wise anyway.

I will be there. First Opening Day for me and first time at Rogers Centre/Skydome since 1995 (?). Been to Yankee Stadium a bunch of times to watch the Jays the past 10 years, but it will be nice to cheer the Jays on and not be the only one doing it.

Damn, should have gone through my plan of picking up 10 tickets and selling them on craigslist.

Wooo...this won't be my first opening day game though...I've gone the last 4 years in a row and a few more times in the 90s.

Gonna be good

for those of you also going...

Gates at Rogers Centre, home of the Blue Jays, will open early at 5:00pm as a special night has been planned. Start time is 7:07pm.
