Basically says how much of a beast Deron Williams is in setting up his teammates.

I think we are over a .500 with a healthy Deron Williams in the lineup.

But, Brook Lopez's productivity comparison isn't a good gauge of Dwill's impact because Brook had a rough start this year. Proof is in the rebounding and block numbers, there is no reason why those stats would go up with a better pg, at least not to the extent that they did.He lost a lot of strength over the summer and was getting pushed around early in the season. But, he seems to have gotten it all back.

Dwill is hooking up Hump though. He is open all game from mid range and he is getting a lot of alley oops now.

The best indicator is the record which is a lot better and thats with bum wrists.

A healthy DWill will be a joy to watch. It's the wrist. He's actually one of the better shooters out there, around 47% FG the past few seasons, one season practically going 50/40/80 on FG/3PT/FT. That's why that crossover can be nasty -- he can use it to either get closer to the basket or pop that jumper.

Next season he can be a 20-point, 12-assist kind of Net with much better shooting numbers all around while making everybody else better. A full season with a healthy Deron and the Nets' last season in NJ will be a playoffs one.

They did that cause D-Will doesn't want to discuss it since he is still under contract next year and won't be a free agent until after next year. By them bringing it up, means the media will talk about it, thus making him comment on it, which he doesn't want to do, so they stopped talking about it, so the media will let it go, get it. One long run-on sentence and all you need to know.

Nets point guard Deron Williams, who can opt out of his current deal in 2012, is loath to discuss his future contract status.

Nets coach Avery Johnson today stood by a claim he made Tuesday on the radio that there is "no doubt'' the team will be able to re-sign point guard Deron Williams when he becomes a free agent.

"I have no doubt and I’m really, really confident that we’ll be able to re-sign him,'' Johnson said after practice today. "What am I supposed to say — I’m leery?. All signs that I’ve seen and heard is that as we move forward that he’ll be in a Nets uniform. And guess what? Down the road, if that changes, I’m not going to be the first person in America or professional sports that has had no doubt and it didn’t work.''

On Tuesday, speaking on "The Michael Kay Show'' on ESPN 1050AM, Johnson was asked about the Nets' hopes of re-signing Williams, who can become a free agent in the summer of 2012 if he declines his $17.78 million player option.

The Nets can re-sign Williams to a contract extension this summer, but not before July 18. The current collective bargaining agreement runs out June 30, and if the NBA locks out its players on July 1, as is expected, the Nets will not be able to re-sign Williams until after an agreement is reached between the NBA and its players. By that point, the league's salary structures could be markedly different from structure.

"We’re not going to assume anything, Michael, but there’s no doubt in my mind that we’re not going to be able to re-sign Deron,'' Johnson told host Michael Kay.

Williams bristled today at the idea of discussing his pending contract status over a year in advance.

"I think I’ve got to see the collective bargaining agreement first,'' Williams said when asked about the Nets' chances of re-signing him. "I think I have to opt out a year from now before I can even sign an extension, so there’s no reason to talk about it.

"I have two years left on my contract, right? I can’t sign an extension until I opt out. I can’t opt out until next year, July. So why are we talking about it right now?''.

After that the media started to bombard the Nets with follow up questions about what Avery said. After that he said something to the effect of 'Billy has commented on it, I've commented on it, and Deron has commented on it. There's nothing else that needs to be said'.
