Its been such a long time I cant really recommend a single spot. I never went to "restaurants" for my own food. Always had it at home. A lot of the places I used to hit up have changed. Like I heard Caba Rojo is not like it used to be. Casa Adela.
For me the best spots was the bodegas that had rellenos de papa's e alcapurrias right these in the window. Was like bakery/bodega right on the strip. Thats the stuff you cant get at home because so much goes into preparing it. You got to make it in batches like pasteles almost.
Best advice is hit up a hole in the wall spot. A bakery with some seats. For me that was always the most authentic home cooked feel. You got tourist spots, and home. I really prefer the "home" taste. And IMO you get that in small family owned spots down the block around the corner. Where tourists dont usually go.

Never underestimate the strength of knowledge.
Bring back the physical game and send the softies home.
