Trade for Robin?

Post#1 » by JoseRizal » Fri Mar 25, 2011 7:42 am

I know he's not a major piece in the offseason. However, I'm intrigued at what he can do for Brook & vice-versa. His stock is low right now as the only untouchable young is Phoenix is Gortat should they decide to rebuild.

If we can trade Petro plus cash or a pick, I'm sure Robin will serve as a better back-up at the Center position. With the twins together, I expect them to improve each other. Psychologically, they may even perform better since they don't want to be traded and be separated again.

Thoughts?

Petro is just too awful to be tradable. You'll need something more to package with him to get a deal done, or settle to get somebody worse than Robin.

I would like Robin, I think he has more tenacity than Brook, but not as much talent. He would make a great backup C but nobody is going to take Petro in a trade. Also I would like to see the Nets save the remaining draft picks to trade for something better than a backup C.

If they just wanted Petro and a future 2nd, I'd be fine with it. Even with Gortat, I think the suns will want more than that. If I'm wrong, that logic only is due to suns fans overvaluing him. In the trade forum they always as for a ton more than a deal equivalent to Petro/Cash .

I live in Phoenix and watch a great deal of Suns games, Robin is not worth acquiring. He's about as good as Petro and getting worse by the year. Would never give up a pick to bring him in.

Are you a Suns fan? Do you think they will take Petro plus a 2nd or cash for Robin?

Nope, always been a Nets fan, family is from the area. I don't know, probably not, I wouldn't if I were them. But like I said, unless you're just making the move to ditch Petro's contract, it isn't worth doing anyway. Robin's great at missing wide open shots right around the rim... not much else. He's been an utter disappointment this season, and he has no mono excuse to fall back on.
