DTS needs to spend money this offseason
Last year, when Camby was traded, Portland sent $3M in cash. This year, with the Baron trade, the team is saving at least $6M (Baron vs Mo's salary).
Anyways, DTS needs to open up the checkbook and buy himself a legit SF. Forget trading Kaman and whoever else on the roster. If it means trading for a SF and absorbing a big contract like Iggy or Granger, just get it done!
If all else fails, give Tayshaun Prince a one year deal for $8-10M. He can provide the perimeter D that we need and hit the open shot. Gomes I think has done a good job on the D side but he's so inconsistent on Offense.

I heard the Clipps will most likely try to aquirw a SF via trade. None of the free agent small forwards really interest me any way, though Prince would be a good fall back option. I think the Clipps might end up using part or all of their projected 11 million in cap room in a trade "absorbing" contracts. Here's a scenario I came up with:
Clippers get: Danny Granger (10.8 million), Marvin Williams (7.3), Zaza Pachulia (4.3)
Hawks get: Kaman (12.0), Aminu (2.5), Gomes (4.0)
Pacers get: Josh Smith (11.3), Bledsoe (2.0), 2011 Clippers 2nd round pick.
In this scenario, the Clipps use 2.10 of their cap space and still have about 8.90 to use at their disposal.

Should Wilson Chandler be our target?

^NAH MAN. I like his defense and his slashing ability, but he isn't a good enough shooter for us. He is a career 33% three point shooter, who played for D'Antoni, which usually inflates the stats. Maybe Galinari/Harrington for Gomes and Aminu. This trade saves the Nuggets a ton of money on Harrington's deal and gets them a good young SF prospect. Clipps absorb a bad contract but get a SF they already targeted.

If anything, under D'Antoni's system your 3p% will go down. Chandler is not as good as Wallace or Granger but IMO better than Gallo. He can score and as you mentioned he is a solid defender.
If he shoots over %35 from 3, which I beileve on the Clippers he will, he'd be a good fit.

I think Iggy should be the target before Granger. Granger wouldn't be a bad second option though.

I would say there is a 99% chance the Sixers don't trade Iggy. I think we are better off going for Granger or Josh Smith. Smith is a good trade chip knowing that Atlanta needs a center (Kaman) and teams like Indy (Granger) and NJ (DWILLIAMS) are looking for a power forward. If a miracle would happen, then IGGY would be great though: Here's my wish list for a trade:
1. Iggy
2. Granger
3. Galinari
4. JSmith
1. Iggy
2. Granger
3. Galinari
4. JSmith

Yeah hopefully we can get Iggy but I see your point. That being said the Sixers need a center, Brand likes Kaman, and they have a glut at the guard position. They are also lacking a true SF so if we threw in AFA that would hopefully be enough to put it over the top.

We should have kept Baron and gone after a #3. I don't think that Mo Williams is anything more that a Shooting guard playing point.
We need a #3 and a PT guard; we should have kept Baron.

Gomes is horrible. Prince, Chandler or Battier would be a nice pickup if those other guys stick with their respective teams. Also, Baron might have better courtvision than Mo but Mo can shoot, play defense and get steals which is something one-legged Bum Diddy could never do for this team.

Clipps really should focus on getting either Granger or Gallinari. They would most likely have to take on a bad contract or two in order to get one of these guys though, but let's face it, our franchise isn't in a position to be picky. Basically, a shooter at the small forward position is what we need.

Is that you Baron?
I'm sorry, but Baron's contract was a killer and the only reason we were fortunate to get rid of it was that the Cavs know that they won't be players in free agency and need to build through the draft.
On top of that they've got an owner who doesn't mind spending money or an extra of $12 mil to add another lottery pick.
I applaud the Cavs owner and him not caring about the money to get better, but as a team with an owner not looking to go too deep into his pockets we would've been handcuffed financially as long as Baron's contract was on our payroll.
Also, there's a pretty good chance that many of the top prospects won't come out. Right now Jarred Sullinger of OSU(just like Khawi Leonard of San Diego State) is on the front page stating that he will return to school for his sophomore season. Of course that doesn't mean he's 100% certain to stay in school, but there's a pretty big possibility of that happening, with that lockout looming.
BTW: An upgrade at SF would be really nice. Though, no one knows the new CBA and what we might be able to spend.

Still think we should have kept Baron at least until the end of the Season, then package him w/ the Draft pick. Baron has good court vision & FINALLY bought in that he was no longer the Star he once was.
I just don't get Mo. I think he is a waste of the 16 mill we are paying him and we loose a draft pick.

Why didn't we go after Dorrell Wright last summer instead of Gomes? The guy would be perfect on our team. All he'd do is play defense and drain wide open 3s.
GS got him cheap too. We should try to pry him out of GS this offseason. How about Aminu and a second rounder for Wright and Reggie Williams. We get our starting SF and backup SG.

Hindsight is 20/20. Also, Wright is flourishing in a system made for his ability to spot up and shoot the three. We also wouldn't trade a first round pick and second round pick for that combination. That would be the epitome of buy high/sell low.

One way to solidify Blake staying with the Clippers would be to aquirw a double digit assists man that is also a deadly perimeter shooter. Such a player would be Deron Williams. I think the offer would have to be something like Kaman, Mo Williams, Aminu, 2012 TWolves pick, 2011 2nd rd pick for Williams, Morrow and Petro. I could imagine the Nets would be poised to dump Outlaw's 3 years and 21 million left on his contract. You know what, screw it, I would do this deal:
Clipps get: Williams, Morrow, Petro, Outlaw, 2011 1st
Nets get: Mo Williams, Kaman, Aminu, Gomes, 2012 1st(TWolves), 2011 2nd (both of them).
Clipps get: Williams, Morrow, Petro, Outlaw, 2011 1st
Nets get: Mo Williams, Kaman, Aminu, Gomes, 2012 1st(TWolves), 2011 2nd (both of them).

Tay Prince is the man they should pursue. Savvy vet, above average defender, post game, 3 point range, everything you want at the 3
