With Corey Brewer signing that 3-year deal with Dallas on the cheap, Tough Juice better be thinking ahead to where he will be playing next.

^^ Depends if Caron Butler comes back this season and is effective. I have a feeling that Cuban would be wiling to pay to keep Butler although maybe his wallet has limits since he has to resign Chandler as well.

I guess they could keep Butler. DeBrick's deal will be up, so that will open up minutes. Brewer isn't a starter and really neither is Terry, so if they still see Butler as a starting SG they could keep him.
SF: Marion/Brewer
SG: Butler/Terry

I think the degree of re-signing/re-building depends on how they do in the play-offs. If they get close, I think they keep the core together. If they don't I think they probably let Butler and Terry go and bring in some pricy, but short-term vets. They may even deal Marion and Haywood if the return is decent.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves (Trade Deadline Edition)
Just had a thought about CP3 to NY - Billups has a partially guaranteed deal that doesn't become fully guaranteed until 5 days after the end of this season. So NY can offer Billups on draft night and NOH would still have time to waive him for the financial savings. That's important becasue that would mean they could include the rights from the HOU pick. They can also buy other picks on draft night to include as well
Maybe that's not "market value" for Paul. But remember that the NBA now owns the Hornets and has at least discussed contraction. They might take pennies on the dollar simply for the immediate financial savings.

Spurs just signed Steve Novak through the end of the season. Seems like one of those guys the Spurs always find that'll hit big shots come playoff time...

I think it will be very hard for the Hornets to deal Paul for anything less than "full value". The first reason is losing him will hurt the value of the team(so it will impact all the owners financially). The other is that acquiring him will improve the team that gets him, so the other play-off teams in the conference will likely be against a deal(can you see the Magic, Bulls, Celtics letting the Knicks make a deal for Paul?).

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves (Trade Deadline Edition)
The moves by the Bobcats are really looking pretty bad. I can see the justification for the DJ White/Mohammed deal.
However the Wallace deal is looking pretty bad. They basically knocked themselves out of the play-off race. The Blazers have enough talent on the wings(Matthews, Batum, Fernandezand Roy), the Bobcats should have been able to get someone who could help them stay in the play-off race.
I can see not wanting to be stuck in the limbo of a 40-45 win team. However I think they would have been better off dealing Stephen Jackson and Diaw if they are trying to do a complete rebuild.

Ah, good points. See - this why the NBA shouldn't be running one of it's own franchises. MLB got away with hit with the Nats because they were essentially an "expansion" team that nobody cared about. They didn't have a star like Paul or a roster that was competitive.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves (Trade Deadline Edition)
Derrick Favors reportedly playing well in place of the injured Paul Milsap. Could than mean Utah makes Milsap available over the summer? I immediately thought of Indy as a team that might be willing to move Granger for Milsap and filler, but Hansbrough is blowing up now so maybe not.
I'd love for the Wiz to get in on a Milsap deal. Trouble is Utah seems to need swingmen in return, which we don't have (at least none worth Milsap). If we could draft Kanter, and then send Blatche+Mcgee to a third team that has a swingman to send to Utah while we get Milsap, we'd be set IMO.
Thoughts on who that could be? Portland (Batum)? Philly (Iggy)? Houston (Martin)? Boston (Green sign-and-trade)? Any others?

Utah should move Millsap. If Favors is playing just as well and they're not missing a beat, why not? He's still on his rookie deal.

I think Nick Young might not be a bad fit on the Jazz. I couldn't really see him playing with Sloan, but he might fit with the new coaching staff.

Re: Discussing Other Teams' Moves (Trade Deadline Edition)
I think Young could fit with Sloan-run system. Utah keeps the ball in the PG's hands most of the time like we do. The swingmen have to blend into the system. Young does that fine. The only question I have is whether or not Young can set the picks that Sloan requires.
As far as the Millsap for Granger trade goes, I can really see both teams doing it. Hansbrough has looked good statistically for the past few games, but Indy has lost most of them. Indy has lost 7 of 9, with 6 of those losses being double-digit defeats.

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of.

The Spurs are taking a look at Da’Sean Butler before anyone else, what a shocker.

Yeah just read that, and immediate thought another one that got away to the Spurs.

Reading this article on how Sixers management is bungling Craig Brackens as an asset, reminds me of our dear Ernest somewhat. Yes the Sixers already have Kapono, but they should have been grooming Bracken's so-that he could be a potential contributor when the playoffs get started.

You must be thinking of Dave Corzine. No? Ok, must be Roger Phegley. Who could forget the draft when the Bullets picked both Corzine and Phegley in the 1st round? As you're well aware, both played for San Antonio for a bit.

Yeah, maybe Brackins could get his FG percentage up to the stellar 42% he shot at Iowa State... or play the great defense he wasn't known for.

Really? Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, DeJuan Blair, & Gary Neal were who I had in-mind.
The Spurs work tirelessly to find hi BBIQ players, I wish the same could be said about the Wizards.
