Atlanta Hawks 2011-2012 (Add Size & Depth)

Post#1 » by Ruhiel » Sat Mar 26, 2011 6:13 pm

Running style so that's why I left Yao and Oden off.

Frontcourt:
C: Hasheem Thabeet-Tyson Chandler-Nazr Mohammed*-Dalembert-Nene/Zaza Pachulia/
PF: Al Horford/-Ike Diogu*-T.Murphy*-Glen Davis-Kenyon Martin-Jeff Adrien-Alexis Ajinca-Hilton Armstrong
SF: Tayshaun Prince/Josh Smith(6th man SF/PF ala Odom)/Marvin Williams

-Josh Powell: He's not a center, he played with the Lakers, so I know he is a stretch PF shooter, he is good but even at PF he is not 6th man material

Backcourt:
SG: Joe Johnson/Marvin Williams/Al Thornton
PG: Jeff Teague/Kirk Hinrich/Joe Johnson

*6th man potential

Depth Cart
------------

Backcourt:
PG: Jeff Teague/Kirk Hinrich/Joe Johnson
SG: Joe Johnson/Marvin Williams/Al Thornton
---
SF: Tayshaun Prince/Josh Smith/Marvin Williams
PF: Al Horford/Ike Diogu
C: Nazr Mohammed*/Zaza Pachulia/Ike Diogu
Hasheem Thabeet-Tyson Chandler-Nazr Mohammed*
(6th man SF/PF ala Odom)
----
-Marvin WIlliams and JC = $17M if Marvin is still around he will have to take on the Al Thornton tall corner shooter/scorer role. I sincerely believe he would thrive in that role. But Thornton is a noticeable undervalued asset.
-McGrady could be SG, but he is not a speed player. He rather spot up and take a low percentage jumper. Hawks are not a popular destination. As this team is rebuilding its roster and players would have to believe
-----
Pachulia is a good backup but stealing Troy Murphy and Glen Davis from a winning program like the Celtics would be great.

+A taller lineup and Josh gets to harness his talent at SF and PF more efficiently like Odom did for the Lakers. The great thing about this is that his production rateER already is better than Odom.

Teague stops listening to Nick "the Quick Trigger" van Axel and uses the pick and pop with Al or using big lineup to create screens for Joe or Prince Teague pushing the tempo to suck in defenders and kick. Hinrich, Diogu and Smith more than cover for JC's lost scoring and shooting.
-------
2011-2012
PG SG SF PF C
Jeff Teague/Joe Johnson/Tayshaun Prince*/Al Horford/Nazr Mohammed*
Kirk Hinrich/Al Thornton*/Josh Smith/Ike Diogu*/Zaza Pachulia

----
EDIT: Just realized Horford's extension kicks in next year meaning there is only about $6M ava

$5M Prince S&T for Marvin with Pistons; Mohammed $2M; Diogu $500K, Thornton $750K

2011-2012
PG SG SF PF C
Jeff Teague/Joe Johnson/Tayshaun Prince/Al Horford/Nazr Mohammed*
Kirk Hinrich/Marvin Williams*/Josh Smith*/Ike Diogu*/Zaza Pachulia

that's realistic, Williams Smith and Diogu off the bench is good scoring punch
But if swingman Al Thornton could be signed that would really improve the running game and give us more of a spark. He is more comfortable scoring against both SGs and SFs whereas Marvin's inconsistent.

not bad, but I would rather try and get Kaman some how, but I wouldn't be mad with that type of offseason. we would just need a three point shooter off the bench.
